Briggs & Stratton

In the summer of 2004, I purchased a Bolens riding lawnmower, 36-inch cut, 15-hp briggs and stratton motor, from Lowe's in Rock Hill, SC. Please note that this has nothing to do with Bolens or Lowe's; however, it has everything to do with briggs and stratton. What I'm about to write here is a chain of events from summer of 2004- aug 07. My first summer i mowed my yard one time, in the middle of mowing i stopped to take a break. Went to restart the mower, and it would not start. I never found out why it wouldn't start, however Lowe's exchanged for another one. Back to mowing I go, the rest of the summer it ran fine. The following summer, I go to mow the yard, and it ran, completed the yard, the next time i went to go start the mower, the battery was dead. Didn't go back to lowe's just went out and bought a battery. Back to mowing, The next time i went to go mow, the mower would not start, not spending money on another battery. After all in my mind this is a brand new mower with a brand new battery. So I jumped it instead, and I continued to jump start it for the rest of the summer.(2005) Here we go another summer comes, yep you guessed it, it wouldn't start. Would you believe the starter went bad. I went and bought a starter,($107 + tax)back to jumping and mowing, Somewhere in the middle of the summer, the valves have gone out of sync. I put the lawnmower in the shop, got the valves back in sync. In the midst of all of this i also had to purchase another starter(107 + tax) and to this day the valves are not staying in sync, everytime i try to mow my yard they fall out of sync, i adjust and they fall out again. So with all this I thought i should just get rid of 15-hp b&s moter. and I got a 14.5 from a retired gentleman who repairs lawnmowers. Mind you just put it on today, haven't mowed yard yet 8-28-07, where i'm going with all of this is I would like for a representative from b&s to contact me and repace my motor, or perhaps even the lawnmower itself, I have only had it 3 years, I would like to think that you don't have to throw money away like this so if your out there Mr representative, I would like for you to give me a call at 803-374-3871, or if anyone else is having a problem with there 15-hp bolen 36-inch cut riding lawnmower.
