Beware to everyone Shopping at Diamond's Beer and Liquor. The OWNER is a black woman who is EXTREMELY RUDE, Aggressive, UNPROFESSIONAL and Lacks Serious Customer Service Skills!!! The Owner NEEDS a MAJOR attitude adjustment. People wonder why we DON'T have (Black Owned) businesses in the Community very long well the Owner of Diamond's Beer and Liquor is a Prime EXAMPLE!! In our day and age with all of the VIOLENCE going on in the World the OWNER is going to get Slick out of the mouth with the WRONG person or let her mouth write a check that her "Behind" CANNOT cash and I really hope when that happens that she the owner ate her "Tony the Tiger Frosted Flakes" or her "Wheaties". I would Rate a Minus Negative 5 if the option was available as far as Service goes because the Owner gives VERY POOR SERVICE!! When you are spending your money you Expect to be treated with Dignity and Respect and like a Human Being. The Owner is VERY DISRESPECTFUL also!! Thank you Everyone!
Good food, good service, enjoyable movie experience. Been there dozens of times. Not sure what these people are whining about.
My favorite place for dinner and a movie. The service is superb and the food is really good. Great prices too...very reasonable. Better than every dine and movie place in Wisconsin. Highly recommended.
went by three different times while in Milwaukee all of the bartenders were fantastic had a great time. The pizza was very good and ice cold beer. Highly recommend if you are in the area
In 2011 Milwaukee was deemed America's most segregated and racist metropolitan city and places like Brother's is the reason why. Why do we all get dressed up and go out on the weekends...to have fun just like everyone else... of every type of demographic. However Brother's bar and grill has made it clear that certain minorities, especially African Americans are not welcomed. A group of my friends attempted to patronize Brother's Bar and Grill 5/12/13 however was turned away because we "looked like we may start a fight" Let me be clear, I am an educated person, soft spoken, and gave no indication whatsoever that I would be inappropriate in any type of manner. When stating to the manager that this could be considered discrimination...the response was "call it what you want but you are still not getting in." It is sad that still in 2013, that there is no cross cultural acceptance here. I am very disappointed in this establishment
Review:Yesterday, my wife and I decided to go out for a movie at Fox Bay Cinema Grill to see Silver Linings Playbook. The movie started at 9:30PM. My wife and I were a few minutes late getting there and walked in at about 9:33PM. Nobody was at the ticket counter and after about two minutes of searching around I spotted and flagged down the young lady that was cleaning the front lunge so she would come and sell us the tickets. We walked into the theater and the movie had just started (about 9:36PM). As the waiter made his initial rounds already and had taken everyone's order, we did not get services immediately. My wife suggested that we can wait until the waiter comes around again and place our order then. About 30 minutes into the movie, nobody came up to us to see if we needed anything or would like to place an order. I walked out to the bar to see if I could find someone, and there was nobody at the bar. The young lady that was there initially was nowhere to be found also. I went back into the theater and after a while realized that we would not be serviced at all. We decided not to interrupt our movie anymore and that I would try and find someone after the movie to make a complaint. After the movie, we came out to the bar and after standing there for about 3-4 minutes, a woman came out (turns out it was the owner, initially I did not know that). I explained my situation and she was apologetic, with a professional tone of voice, but was not sincere, like it was no big deal and I was being brushed off and nothing would get done to rectify the situation. I was professional and polite in my demeanor, and the lady was calm as well. I wasn't expecting any handouts, but I was never offered any compensation (any other place would offer a free ticket, dessert, etc..), not for any other reason but to be business courteous and to show the customer that their business is welcomed and appreciated. Furthermore, as I felt that I was being brushed off, I explained that I have been coming to this establishment for many years, and that I am beginning to think that I should seek to take my business elsewhere. The owner even went as far as to tell me that "it's my choice if I want to come here or not" and that they are cheaper than other theaters. I know it's my choice. As a consumer, I do not have to be told I have choices as I am aware of that. But thank you for your permission to have that choice. I stated that I will write a letter to the owner and was informed that she is the owner. So, here is my letter!
My friends and I recently started coming back to this bar. Apparently there has been a change in management and new staff. And get this...they are friendly! They also have a DJ to keep the party going. I understand the people below complaining about the dress code. I talked to a bouncer and he said that the dress code is corporation wide and there is nothing they can do about it. I guess the bottom line is, dress according to the code and there shouldn't be any problems. We came for the wings and we stayed for the cheap drinks! Definitely the new hot spot on Water Street!
The rating is for the overnight stay at Shakers. The bar is very cool, food was awesome and the staff was friendly and entertaining, however, I do not recommend staying overnight. Stating that it is not a hotel room on the website is an understatement. The room was dusty and dirty and we didn’t even want to use the bathroom or the bed. We slept with our clothes on. Our friends stayed overnight the next night and the bed had the same sheets. There is no air conditioning so we had to open the windows and, besides the numerous cigarette butts on the window sill, we could not sleep because of the extremely loud music and people on the street from the club next door that did not close until 4 am. Now we know why so many people leave suddenly -- if we did not already know that most of the hotels in the vicinity were already booked, we would have left immediately, too. The fact that we did not see or hear any ghosts did not bother us at all, it was the lack of cleanliness and the smelly bathroom. I can understand trying to keep it looking authentic, but at least keep it clean and fix the bathroom (particularly for the price they charge). I would not beware of the ghosts, but of being ripped off.
