Recently we opened a new branch of my IT firm, where I was planning to shift most of my expensive servers and systems from old branch to this new branch. Each system was worth thousands of dollars. I could not take risk on their transport. I researched a lot and read many blogs. I came across a blog on which there were many positive reviews about the American Choice Van Lines. I was very scared in hiring any inexperienced company for this job. However I spoke to ACVL about my expensive systems and they discussed it very nicely with me. They told me about their high end packing options to transport such machinery without any damage. With their explanation I was convinced I was going to hire them.Next day they came up with their experienced team and analyzed all the systems and servers. They packed each server and system with absolute care. I was amazed to see the way they packed each item. They all were very professional and experienced workers. Instead of hurrying and finish the job, they patiently and nicely packed all the items. They transported all the cargo within 2 days on my desired location. I was really shocked because initially when I asked other movers and packers, everyone told me that it will take 5-6 days to transport such expensive systems to any location. ACVL really took care of my systems and I was really impressed to see their expertise. They unpacked all the systems and placed them in my new branch as requested. I was prepared that any company will charge a substantial amount for this transport task but American Choice Van Lines made it easier for me and everything completed well under my budget. Great experience and I will definitely recommend you in the future.
My father is in Civil Service and his job included transfer every year. It was very irritating to pack and move each and every item that you have kept over the year. We are a large family with total 5 members, so the house is full of all sort of things. Many times my father thought to leave some of the stuff behind but my mother never let him do that. He was always worried about his budget because Government gave only some of the amount of the transfer. We tried every possible movers and packers company but every time the charges far crossed our budget. Just then my father's colleagues told him about American Choice Van Lines. My father talked to the company's representative and she told my father that they will take care of all our needs. My dad was only worried about the budget, so he was not sure about hiring a moving company. Finally, he agreed to give the ACVL the task. The coming weekend Saturday they arrived very early and in time, ready to do their job. As they started their job, we were all shocked. They packed each and every item with so much care and with so speed. We had no idea where to start but that was not a problem for them. They started packing all the small and fragile objects. They always showed a very friendly behavior. They even helped us unpack and set our new house up. So ACVL good job keep it up. This company is a value for service provider and if you are looking to move this must be your choice. All I can say is great job American Choice Van Lines and if I do ever look to move in the future I would only be hiring your services. I also assure you that I will recommend you to any of my family and friends who are in need of packing and moving assistance.
I have used American Choice Van Lines multiple times in the past as well. They are really trust worthy and time oriented. They always meet the deadlines I provide without even questioning. Last time I was living in a remote location where it was very difficult to even find a gas station, the nearest one was a half hour away. I was transferred overnight to another location. I contacted various companies but none of the companies were ready to help me to move my cargo overnight. Finally, I called American Choice Van Lines. As soon as I talked to their customer care associate, I was able to get a prompt solution to my need and problems. They were really polite and listened to my requirements very patiently. They sent the whole team over and they started packing my stuff. Whenever I call ACVL, I am so much satisfied with their services. They are always ready to help and co-operate with me in every possible manner.I always noticed that American Choice Van Lines is very process oriented regardless of the geographic location in which one wants their service. If they commit then they will surely meet the deadlines, no matter what happens. Earlier I tried many other packers and movers but all were very hesitant and unprofessional.ACL's workers emphasizes on quality and assurance. They handled every fragile and delicate piece with utmost care and packed other items very nicely carefully in bubble wrap. Another thing I noticed that they charge very nominal fee, no hefty amounts like other packers and movers. American Choice Van Lines was the best solution for moving my cargo within time limit I provided and without even burning deep holes in my pockets.
With so much advancement in world, each and every industry is trying their best to be on top of others. One such example is of packers and movers industry. It is very difficult to find a good professional packers and movers. I tried many companies but most were about making money rather than customer satisfaction. I and my wife recently decided to buy a new house in a Place close by. We contacted a packers and movers company to help us in relocating all our house stuff. When they came to our house to inspect, they gave us a long list with all clauses in it. Firstly, the rate they were demanding was too high. Secondly, they were not taking any responsibility of any possible damage to our stuff in transit. They even asked for other fees like road tax, packing charges and items setting charges. I was really disappointed with all such clauses. I was researching and came across an advertisement of American Choice Van Lines. I decided to give American Choice Van Lines a chance to help us. After talking to their representative, a team of 5 persons came to our house and inspected all the items. Without any delay they started packing all the items with their high quality packing material. The way they were packing looked very professional. In 2 hours they packed all the items and transferred it to my new house which was just some distance away. I was really surprised by the bill because the charges were under my budget and no extra fee was included for setting up the items in place. I am really happy with my decision to choose American Choice Van Lines.
We had a booking for American Choice Van Lines movers and they put up three average sized men with above average strength and a great grasp of trigonometry and topology to carry out the move, tasks included to carry up the couch up the stairs and man oeuvres the couch through the entryway and into the living room. They were polite and professional over the phone, within a matter of minutes we finalized a deal. I request them of an onsite inspection which was voluntarily done. This was to get an idea of what approximate weight we would be transporting. After a quick inspection we ascertained the approximate quantity. Pricing was pretty reasonable too, especially for a tough task like this. My only concern was the delivery time, but it arrived as promised, right on time. The lady from the company called me a couple of times the day we were to move. Once to insure the movers had arrived on time and to confirm they were working efficiently. The second call was after the moving had been completed this was a confirmation call. Most of my previous experiences were job done over and out but with this company it was definitely more professional. I think after sales service is very important for a service company, and in this case when you are taking the responsibility to deliver someone’s valuables and belongings you need to at least have the dignity to ask the customer if he is satisfied. I think this company is great and I would hire them again if required. Thank you American Choice Van Lines for all your help.
When my father got a new job it was necessary for the entire family to move to a new house. It was irritating and overwhelming to think about moving all our stuff. We are a large family and therefore we had our house full of things. My grandfather suggested to my dad that it was not necessary for us to make the move by ourselves; he told him that there are companies that take care of that, my dad, worried about the family budget, was not sure about hiring a moving company. So I did my part and I started researching on the internet and that's how I found American Choice Van Lines. I talked to my dad about the good services they offer and he decided to hire them. I think my dad doesn’t regret for having done so. The morning of the move they arrived very early and in time, ready to do their job. They did it so fast that I could not believe it. They helped us pack; to be honest we had no idea where to start. But that was not a problem for them; they started packing all small and more fragile objects. They made sure that that our belongings were safe inside their boxes so they would not suffer damage. Then they continued with furniture and bigger things. They always showed a very friendly attitude and were interested in the welfare of our belongings. When we got to our new house, they helped us unpack and look for a place for all our stuff. It was amazing it looked as if we had just moved our home to another place instead of our belongings. My whole family was very happy with the service that ACVL provided.
We moved from San Francisco, CA to Atlanta, GA. There is nothing more I hate than moving. Hesitated calling moving companies since so many of them quote one rate and you end up paying much more. We received one flat rate from these guys and didn't have to pay a penny more. From the moment I began speaking with Crystal, my stress seem to have disappeared. She gave me all the step by step details and sent me a quote while on the phone with her. Although at the time of my call, I wasn't sure where exactly we were moving to or the exact date, she told me that they will make our move happen. When I called Crystal two weeks later with the date and address, she remembered me and pulled up our account immediately. She set everything up and told me that her guys would be by on monday, Sep 2nd between 9am-10am.The men that work for American Choice were there on the dot! I've never seen such AMAZING and EFFICIENT workers anywhere!!! They all had a smile on their face and were very helpful. Every single piece of furniture, lamp, painting, vase and anything else you can think of was wrapped carefully and taped to prevent any damage.Every piece of furniture was arranged in the room they belonged and my move was easy and stress free because of Spartan. What Crystal had quoted never changed. She even checked up to make sure everything was going well. This type of service is hard to come by.Thank you Crystal and all the men that work with you. Your guys are INCREDIBLE! I have never seen anyone work as hard as your guys!
I was finding out an experienced company who had great past to serve their customer. After observing few companies profile and customer reviews, we decided to take American Choice Van Lines. It was needed to remove everything from our apartment and needed to take high standard storage facilities. There movers came moving car and loaded our entire items gently. The most interesting aspect of the service they provided on the day of the move they actually reached fifteen minutes before time. We really liked their storage facilities. It was a world-class standard company. Their movers wrapped and loaded our goods carefully, stored all of our items safely. The glass products were neatly double bubble wrapped and place neatly in firm boxes filled with shredded paper. When our home decoration was completed, crews placed everything precisely. It was amazing to work with such an excellent company, nothing was missing there. At the end of the shifting we had no damage and all our belongings arrived in pristine condition, this was exactly what we wanted from our packing and moving company; which American Choice Van Lines delivered on. Definitely I just give them overall excellent rating for outstanding customer service quality. I am very pleased with the services and will definitely use their services again if required in addition to recommending them to all my friend and family members; who are in need of packing and moving assistance. So job well done American Choice Van Lines and keep up the excellent work.
I am a single female and was to move to another apartment not very far away. With reference from online suggestion I short listed American Choice Van Lines. The organization is very professional and straight forward in their business. Considering that my weight was less as compared to the weight people generally carry. I was getting minimum weight quotes from all other companies. I spoke to the representative from American Choice Van Lines and requested her to please work a deal for me. She promised to what best she could do especially in terms of the pricing. After a couple of hours she called back and offered me a quote that was cheaper as compared to what other companies were offering. This would cover everything from packing, loading, transportation and unloading. I had a few bits of furniture that were neatly blanketed to prevent them from tearing or getting damaged and glass utensils were bubble packed. The truck arrived just; like 5 minutes late, and the workers sprung to business immediately. In a matter of a couple of hours we were done and ready to move. I drove close to the truck to make sure everything was smooth. The driver was driving carefully and did not do anything clueless in terms of driving skills. In some time we arrived to my new apartment, in fact this time a smaller one. The workers again unloaded the goods carefully and went up 3 floors with the furniture. Placement was done as per my request and that finished the job. This company is good at its job, I recommend ACVL.
Recently I got promotion and I was given a new house in different city. My main problem was the transport of my household cargo along with my car. I did not want to drive my car to such distant location so I tried hard to find a transport company to transport my car and cargo. I tried every possible movers and packers but everybody said that I have to wait for some time because the move involves the transport of a lot of stuff and a car. I was really disappointed as I couldn't find any company but one day on one blog I came across a user who had the same problem. He mentioned about the American Choice Van Lines and their way of working.I contacted them and explained my problem. I was shocked to see that they agreed to transport my car and cargo and at a price which I can only honestly terms as affordable to the pocked. Initially I was skeptical of their promise and thought they would degrade the service as the price I felt was apparently less that what I was expecting to pay. To be honest I was not sure about the quality they would provide but being the only option I had no choice. Next morning ACVL’s team came and very carefully packed all the items. They packed every item with personal care and co-operated in every single way. They very carefully loaded my car very carefully in a large van / truck. They delivered the whole cargo within five days and without any harm to any item. All the workers in the team were very polite and helped a lot. I am really happy after using ACVL.
Every move is different, so it's vital to choose a moving company that's right for you. The first consideration you should make when hiring these professionals is how far you're moving.
Depending on the moving company, local moves are typically anywhere between one and 100 miles within the same state. Local moves are less complicated to plan, both for you and the movers you decide to hire. They're typically priced based on how much you need to move, how many movers the company plans to provide and how long the job is estimated to take.
Long-Distance and Interstate Moves
Even if you're staying in the same state, you may still technically be planning a long-distance move - though the exact mileage varies by moving company, these are typically moves that are more than 50 to 100 miles long or across state or country lines. In fact, even if you're moving within the same state but you have to go through another state or country first, it's likely considered an interstate move, rather than a local one. That's because the movers are technically transferring items between state lines, which means they'll be responsible for having the correct licensing and insurance in place.
Long-distance moves are much more complicated to plan, typically requiring you to pay numerous extra expenses for everything from shipping items to renting storage space.
Are you making a big move and trying to figure out exactly how much you should plan to spend? Or are you on a tight budget and looking to hire a mover who can keep costs low? Either way, it's important to understand how exactly moving companies charge their customers.
As mentioned above, for local moves, companies will charge based on the number of movers they provide and the amount of time they'll need to spend on the project. Generally, the more rooms in your apartment or house, the more movers and time you can expect to be charged for. The price of long-distance or interstate moves, on the other hand, will be based on the amount of belongings you have - and more specifically the weight of those belongings. The heavier the boxes or items you're shipping across state or country lines, the more expensive your move will be.
Moving costs will vary greatly, depending on where you are. Local moves in a small town in the Midwest will be much less expensive than comparable moves in New York City. For that reason, it's best to do some research about the going rates in your area.
No matter what type of move you're making, you can reach out to prospective moving companies for estimates - this is the best way to determine how expensive your move will be based on where you live and what services you're looking for. Typically, the moving company will send someone to your home who will do a walk through of each room, making note of the furniture, valuables and other belongings in each one. Then, he or she will provide an estimate. The exact amount you pay may, however, be different from the amount declared in the estimate. That's where the type of contract comes in.
Nonbinding vs. Binding Contracts
For any move, a company will ask you to sign a contract. It's crucial to know exactly what type of contract you're signing, though, to understand how much you can expect to pay. In basic terms, there are two types of moving contracts: binding and nonbinding. Binding, as well as binding not-to-exceed, contracts are the most preferable for people hiring movers. These list an estimated price the moving company cannot charge more than. So, even if your local move takes an hour longer or your belongings are heavier than expected for an interstate move, you're still only responsible for paying a fixed amount.
Nonbinding contracts, on the other hand, have no fixed final number. Instead, they list a rate - by the hour or by the pound/kilo - and you're responsible for paying exactly how much your move costs in those terms.
Keep in mind that movers provide a variety of services, many of which you may not require. These can affect how expensive your move will be. For example, a full-service move that includes packing and unpacking will be pricier than a local move that only includes loading the truck, driving it to the new home and unloading it.
For any move, there may be extra costs beyond the typical services offered. If you're asking your movers to transport large, hard-to-move items, like pianos, for instance, you'll likely pay an extra fee. Likewise, if your apartment building doesn't have an elevator or the truck has to be parked far from your home, you may be charged extra. Ask about these potential expenses when signing your contract.
Don't rush through the process of hiring a moving company. Make sure the movers you hire are dependable, reputable and the right fit for your needs.
Look for Reviews and Recommendations
When hiring movers, it's a good idea to both look at reviews online and ask your friends and family members for recommendations. Personal endorsements will go a long way toward helping you determine whether you can expect the company to do a quick and professional job.
Choose Top Candidates
As you're vetting candidates through reviews and recommendations, narrow your selection to three or four top options. Make sure the companies offer the type of move you're looking for, whether it's interstate or local. These three or four companies are who you'll contact for estimates.
Don't Be Afraid to Ask Questions
After receiving estimates, you'll have a better idea which companies are within your budget. However, this isn't the only factor you should use when choosing movers, especially for more complicated jobs. In fact, you may be willing to pay a little more to hire quality movers who can ensure the safety of your belongings. Don't be afraid to call these companies and ask questions.
During the hiring process, you want to make sure of three things: First, that the moving company is reputable and has the proper licensing and insurance. Second, that the movers are dependable, professional and committed to doing the job correctly. Finally, that the estimate provided is binding and that you're aware of any potential excess costs. With these factors in mind, here are some of the most important questions to ask a moving company:
As with any service profession, there are certain moving companies - though they are few and far between - that aren't reputable or that will try to take advantage of you. It's important to be able to recognize a scam if you come across one.
Call the FMCSA
For long-distance or interstate moves, you can easily check that companies have the proper licensing and insurance, which is a clear indication that they're legitimate. All interstate moving companies must be registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, so call 888-368-7238 to confirm the licenses, insurance and credentials of the movers you're considering. The FMCSA can also tell you if any complaints have been filed against a particular moving company.
Check with the American Moving and Storage Association
For both local and long-distance moving companies, AMSA is another good place to check out a company's legitimacy. Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.
One of the most common fears people face when moving to a new home is that something they own will be lost or damaged in the process. While no company will be able to guarantee everything arrives safely, there are steps you can take to make damage less likely.
Pack and Transport Your Valuables
If you have items that are emotionally or financially valuable to you, do your best to pack and move them yourself. Keep jewelry, expensive artwork, inherited valuables and even costly electronics in your own car - that way you'll have complete control over their safety at all times.
Choose a Moving Company That Plans Ahead
Moving companies can better keep your belongings safe when the movers plan ahead. What does this mean? Many companies take extra time to measure doorways, halls and stairways to find the safest route in and out of your home. They should also provide furniture blankets, covers and moving pads to keep both your home and your belongings free of scratches or other damage.
Keep the Moving Area Safe
There are some things you can control on moving day and some things you simply can't, such as the weather. If you're moving on a snowy, icy or rainy day, keeping all of your paths, stairways and walkways clear and dry is crucial. This can help protect both the movers and the large items they're carrying to and from the truck.
The subject of tipping is relatively unclear when it comes to movers. However, there is a general rule of thumb that most people in the industry agree on: Tip your movers if they've done a good job and you think a tip is warranted.
Generally, a 5 percent tip is considered appropriate, though some people recommend paying $20 per day, per mover for basic, local moves. However, almost everyone agrees you should first do a quick walk-through of your home to check for any damage to your furniture or belongings and to make sure everything is where you'd like it to be.
If you do decide to give a tip, divide it evenly and give money to each individual, rather than giving the entire sum to the head mover and expecting it to be doled out equally. One type of tip to avoid: alcohol. It's usually illegal for movers to have bottles of alcohol in the truck or van, so tipping a bottle of wine or liquor could get them into trouble.
