Unfair & Unaware (a response to Dishonest w/o Integrity)

Let's face it. All fuel prices are a little outrageous on some level. However, to me, I see no instance of price gouging, lying, or intentionally ""ripping off"" a consumer, in this situation. At the base price of $1.18/lb a standard 20lb. tank would run $20.11(including tax), taking into consideration that the tank was filled accordingly to 80% capacity. In my opinion, that is rather affordable compared to some of the ""switch out"" locations in the area. All propane consumers should educate themselves prior to making a purchase in regards to standard practices taken by any LP provider including the conversion of gallons to pounds and vice versa (refer to the Ohio Propane Gas Association website ). I believe, that based on the conversion of pounds to gallons, that this price was fair. Let's take into consideration that not a single LP provider will charge anything less than their supplier charges them, education about any subject will provide better preperation, and we can't blame any person, business, or nation for the weather.

Overall
dishonest without integrity

Was sent here for propane by there propane supplier with a price range idea that should be charged. The weather was bad and I needed the fuel and did not confirm the price prior to getting tanks filled. I was shocked to hear the total bill and asked what the price per gallon was. He told me they sold it by the pound at $1.18/lb and he did not know gallon price. My tanks hold 7 gallons each and one was not empty, they filled 2. I complained that this was far too expensive and should be no more than $3.85/gal. He stated that his supplier charge him more than that. At this point I informed him that I had discussed fair pricing with his supplier and what he had done was not ethical.
Summery: I got 59lbs, at 4.23lbs per gal this is 13.95 gallons. Was charged $69.62 before tax which comes to $4.99/gal.($5.32/gal after tax).
I believe he did not offer the price prior to filling the tanks deliberately knowing it is excessive and gave price per pound to mislead true cost.
Please let's stand together and do not support this type of business practice.
