As a private RV owner allowing Pappy's to rent my RV through their rental pool, I can tell you to be very careful. RVs at Pappy's are not late model units and are not well maintained. Little things like broken shades and awnings to real inconveniences like generator, air conditioning and leveling system failures. Bruce Powell and Misty make many commitments to owners and renters but either forget or can not be reached for follow through. Examples in my own experience include our RV being sent out without current registration (due to their lack of follow through), a cargo strap holding the roof access door closed, broken blinds, unreliable generator due to their poor maintenance, faulty RV batteries & inverter, damaged leveling system, and the RV being rented after hitting a deer and before the body damage was repaired. If you rent from Pappy's you are taking the risk that you will encounter, inconvenient or disruptive problems during your rental. I would not recommend this rental company. After pulling our RV from the rental pool, we had close to $9,000 in damage repairs incurred during the time our RV was under Pappy's care. We had to replace the entire leveling system, the electric door steps, parts of the slide mechanism, interior damage and generator damage. We also never received a single payment or compensation for the revenue our motorhome generated for Pappy's. All we received was a giant repair bill. Pappy's filed bankruptcy and Bruce Powell became unreachable.

They filed Bankruptcy in 10/2013.Tells you the status of their business. I am an owner that put my RV in their rental fleet. They do not take care of repairs and do not pay out owners. My passenger side mirror was broken over 2 years ago. Still not replaced. We have called Bruce and Misty numerous times and just get run around. So if you want the run around use Pappys.




Terrible experience. Explained the size and amount of people on more than one occasion and also said I had a 31 foot before with slide out bunks that slept 10 and that was what I wanted. After being told I could get that and making the deposit and additional call to confirm the total rental had them telling me I would be getting one that sat "6-8"...well how many is it, 6 or 8? At this point I am stuck with it.

A/C broke the 1st day in 116 degree weather and since we were told no repairs above $100 without approval, we never were able to repair as Bruce never answered his phone and when he finally told us to replace it (our time, running around, and even having to climb on top and dismantle the A/C to find the brand and serial # for replacement) we were only in one place for 48 hours. After running around trying to find someone, we were told no one could find a unit and no one could install it as it was too close to a holiday. Annoyed at this point but thinking stuff happens, we spent the rest of the trip trying to get in touch with Bruce but he never answered.

At pick up, keys were included for the gate as no one would be around when we returned (which at booking I was told it was being rented again so it couldn't be back any later than 11am). When returning there were actually two chains on the gate and we only had one key. Called Bruce again, no answer, we had to sit and wait as we were not sure what to do. We had people who had to catch flights so we finally left for the airport. When Bruce finally called back he wanted us to go back and try again. We said no and we would leave the RV at a hotel near the airport. He said someone would be on their way to pick it up and we shouldn't plan to be using it for the night. 3 of us had flights out the next day so we got a hotel room. When we left the next morning, the RV was still there. Now, we would have had to get a hotel room anyway but 1. if it didn't need to be back, we would have had plenty of time to clean it ourselves rather than pay, 2. since we had already been screwed out of our time and uncomfortable and sweating the entire trip, it would have been a good customer service gesture for Bruce to tell us we could use it for the night and save on the hotel since he had no intention of coming to get it.

We have tried to call Bruce to discuss this about 10 times. Never once called back. Only rent from Pappy's if you want crappy rentals, inconvenience, poor service, and a damn good ignoring. And prices are no better than any of the actual reputable places.

Wonderful Trip

I had a great trip when I rented from Pappy's. Nothing went wrong. By the time I got back into town I was exhausted and was not looking forward to bringing the RV back in because I thought there would be a ton of drop-off paperwork, but the process was very easy and I was sent on my way. Thanks Pappy's!!

This was a great alternative to camping and was fun for our family. They made the process easy and its something we would probably do again.

Everything from dealing with Pappy;s over the phone, to the actual rental was great. Overall I am very happy that I chose to rent from Pappy's and will definitely consider traveling with a motor-home more often now because this was such a pleasant experience.

we took one of pappys motor homes out for about a week. We put on a few miles but never had any trouble with the RV. It was well maintained and neat and clean inside. The worry free cruising made for a great family experience I hope my kids will remember for a long time.

They had a great RV here for us, something not too big and easy f or me to handle. We had a great trip in a great RV that was just right for the 3 of us. We would definitely do this again since it was so fun and easy. Pappys supplied a really nice motor coach for us.

Do not give employee money to repair anything in advance.

We bought a tent trailer and was told by Robert, and employee at Pappy's that if we paid him he would fix our broken lift cables, and promised to have them done in 2 weeks. We paid him upfront. In 2 weeks Robert told us that the mechanic had been fired and the owner, an new mechanic at Pappy's promised to have it done in a week. We kept checking in with Robert, and after 3 MONTHS, we went to Pappy's picked up our trailer, and it had not been fixed, or even looked at, and now another month has gone by, and all we get are excuses and put of as to why we haven't gotten our money back that we paid to have it fixed. Robert tells us he doesn't have the money any longer, and the owner said he doesn't know anything about it.
