I've worked with AlterKnit New York for years, but this company has descended into a great disappointment. I sent my items, as usual, to the company and awaited the estimated cost for repairs. Instead, I found that they'd charged my card without providing the estimate. I was shocked but assumed they must have finished the work and awaited the return of my finished items. After a month I wrote them asking for an update. Someone named David responded that the items were done and would ship within a week. After another month, then another, then another without receiving my items or an update, I wrote them and demanded that they simply return my items...without completing the repairs. Still...no reply. It was only after I filed a complaint with the NY Bureau of Consumer Frauds and Protection and my credit card company that they completed the repairs (something I told them not to do) and returned my items. To have to go to such lengths just to have them reply to messages and return my property is ridiculous. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ALTERKNIT NY!
