I choose Maid to Sparkle based...

I choose Maid to Sparkle based on the Angies List reviews - big mistake. My home was almost empty and unfortunately the two girls that came were late, and dressed inappropriately. One had flip flops on and almost fell in one of the bathrooms - I could have ended up with a lawsuit if she had hurt herself and all because she had improper footwear for cleaning the floors. They didn't bother to clean the floors in the bathrooms upstairs, never touched the laundry room, didn't clean baseboards. They wanted to utilize Fabuloso on my very expensive wood flooring and I almost had a heart attack. Then they wanted to vacuum my wood floors instead of a microfiber dust mop...have these girls ever cleaned any wood flooring properly? I had to basically manage the rest of the "cleaning"...one girl went to her car and "found" a bottle of Murphys oil soap...I prefer Bona, but I didn't have any at the time and although I told the owner Jonathan on the phone I expected Bona to be utilized on the wood flooring I got Murphys instead - better than Fabuloso I suppose. They did a poor job on the floors, and I had to explain the dilution rate of soap to water, the mop was sopping wet when it should be rung out very well and only slight dampness left behind to dry quickly. The other girl was on her phone texting, and it took her 20 minutes to clean an already spotless microwave...what a waste. I felt bad having to manage their time, but frankly if I didn't have limited mobility with my hands I could have just done the work myself. I spoke to the owner, he offered to send two more ladies for only one hour whenever I wanted - honestly I should have just asked for a refund. I don't want two more people to make more of a mess in my home, it will lead to double the work for me in the end. The girls seemed very young, inexperienced, no customer service skills, no communication skills...it was just a headache. There's a lot of cleaning services out there - Save yourself the headache and try a different company. Angies list has been made aware of the issues. Not happy, will never recommend to anyone else.

I contacted Maid to Sparkle via Angies List deal, in April. You get 2 girls for 2 hours, or 1 girl for 4 hours. The ad does not promise a full day of spring cleaning for $80. In 2007, M. Maids gave me a spring cleaning quote of $300. That's 7 years ago. And they did not deliver. I did not ask them to return. My house is too large for ME to clean by myself in 4 hours or 8 hours. Understanding the 2 hour time constraint, I asked for additional time, up front. I provided the cleaning team with very clear instructions. Focus on trouble spots, Bathrooms, floors, baseboards. I've used MTS cleaning service twice. I rate them A for cleaning, A for flexibility (Had to cancel), and A for following instructions and 5 stars. The only thing they could do to make it better, is cook dinner before they leave. I've hired cleaners, in the past which didn't compare to the Maid to Sparkle service. Professional and focused. The manager is cordial, and works closely with his team to get you on the schedule. Confirms prior to arriving, etc. I'm pleased with the service and will call them again! Another thing that helps: Pick up/tidy, so they can actually clean! They cleaned my house 2 weeks ago, it still looks great. Give Jonathan a call, communicate your 'level' of expectations, preferences. His team will take care of you! Now, I will admit that I am not a clean freak, nor do I white glove everything after they leave...but when my family gets home, they SEE that it is clean. Works for me!

I purchased his service through Angie's List and saw so many "good reviews". The first two ladies that came out did a great job so I told him I would like for them to do a regular monthly service. The owner promised to send out the same girls but went against his word and sent out two different girls who did a sloppy job. He stated he would not charge me and would send them out the following Tuesday (Today) and took down my credit card. Yesterday March 31st he charges my card and when I called to address it he was like well I tried to charge it last week and it did not go through. Please note I never gave him my card until Friday evening. He also "forgot" that he told me he would not charge me until the ladies left and because of the incovenience. He is very unorganized and unprofessional and I will never use their service again. Watch out!

All I can say is that I wish I had read the reviews before I hired these people to do a detailed "Move Out" cleaning on the house before we put it on the market. In addition, if I could rate them a negative 5, I would.



When I inspected the house after the first time they were out I noticed right away that they missed cleaning the master bathroom shower, the spare bathroom shower, the coat closet downstairs and the dining room floor. They also managed to leave a mess of unidentifiable stuff stuck in the grout in front of the sink in the spare bathroom. And to top it off, they pulled the 6-foot wooden blinds off the wall in the media room (leaving broken brackets), because they apparently don't have the sense to know that when you are opening heavy blinds you support the weight with your other hand as you pull on the cord. Being more than a little angry about this, I called and complained and was assured that they would send someone out to clean the areas I mentioned and fix the blinds. I told them we have moved and live more than an hour away and would like to get the house on the market as soon as we can and that this is one of the details holding it up. Again they assured me that they would get everything taken care of. I again had to take time off of work the day after they were to re-clean to verify that everything was finished. As far as I could tell, the only thing that was redone was the grout, the master shower and the closet floor. The spare shower still wasn't clean, the dining room floor was still dusty and the blinds were still not up. Also, she tracked the junk that was in the grout into the next room. On top of that, I noticed that the pantry, kitchen sink, pool table cover and wet bar upper and lower counters were not done either. (I didn't see them the first time because I was so angry about the damage). I called up to complain again and was assured that they would send someone out again the next Monday. Well today is the Tuesday after they said they were SUPPOSED to return and I again took time off to go inspect. No one had shown up AT ALL. This time when I called to complain I was fuming. I was told that not only would someone be out this afternoon or tomorrow morning and that they would also pay for a handyman to repair the blinds.



The reason I am writing this review is that I just got off of the phone with one of their representatives. I was told that, "We've already been out there twice and Amy said she cleaned those areas and she's really good so we're not coming back out". And to follow that little gem, "And we are not paying for the blinds because she was only trying to open them and it was an accident".



Seriously? An accident? I didn't accuse them of swinging on the blinds like they were monkey bars, but they did, in fact, pull them down because they were careless. In short, use this company at your own risk. They will not do a good job, they won't stand by their guarantee and they will not take responsibility for damages they inarguably cause.

HORRIBLE!! RUN!!

I paid $297 for a detailed clean. They didn't clean one of our bathrooms at all, they didn't touch the laundry room, not one baseboard was touched in the entire house, the floors still had dust and debris on them, the tub surround was still dirty, windows not wiped, mirrors not cleaned, and the list goes on and on of everything they didn't touch or did a horrible job on.



When I called to have them re-clean it (per their guarantee) you have to give them an itemized list. In a 3600 square foot house the lady literally told me to go room to room because if it wasn't on her list they wouldn't re-clean it. When they didn't do 75% of a NORMAL cleaning job, she'd be on the phone with me for hours. I asked that they send a supervisor out to see how bad it is and she said they don't have anyone who can do that, she just needs a list.



HORRIBLE cleaning job and horrible service when they screw you over.

The ladies Jennifer and Jessic...

The ladies Jennifer and Jessica did a wonderful job. They did everything I asked them to. I was pleased with their work. The owner Jonathan is also very nice and accommodating. He communicated very well with the dates/time and was also very flexible. Thanks!!

Disappointed on the second service with a No Show and argumentative "owner"

Week one was just OK, not a bad job but not great. The owner told my wife she would be out but never came, just sent her cleaning crew. They were nice. Week two a different crew claimed they came to the house, the door was locked and they couldn't get in to clean. We had checked it twice before we left and it was unlocked when we got home. When the owner called she argued with me that she "believed her people." Fine, but when I explained I had company coming and was really counting on them, she said she couldn't fit me in. She was clearly angry and ready to argue with me, I couldn't tell you why. We both decided we were not "comfortable" with the situation. I think the customer service is poor at best and the owner needs some "training". My advice is to keep looking.
