Huggy Bear Campground

I also have camped at Huggy Bear campground and can tell you that Mr. and Mrs. Niese are exceptional people. They work very hard at maintaining a clean campground. They are always putting money back in to the campground to make it better for the campers. As far as lots go, people need to realize that Mr. Niese is a business man, and Jayco 2004 needs to realize that the spot was not theirs. All the land belongs to the Niese family and you are just renting a spot. I also know that if Jayco 2004 had talked to Mr. Niese, instead of taking the word of neighbors, they could have resolved their problem. If your family wants to have a good time camping with entertainment for adults and for children Huggy Bear is where you ought to be!

This is a beautiful campground: well maintained; no potholes in the roads (wow!); plenty of gravel on the roads and in the sites; level (!) sites; reasonable rates. I hate to add BUT. In the pool across from the trailer sales area, they allow very loud music ALL DAY. Everyone in the pool and anyone in an RV or seasonal site near the pool is subjected to this loud music. It's a shame that so many are subjected to the musical tastes of just a few. It did no good to complain to management. A request directly to the people responsible for operating the musical equipment brought out snottiness. We won't be back.

this is a great campground...i especially loved the out side DJ sat. night allowing those that love to dance without hanging at a bar, do just that. Als,o love the gospel music on sunday mornings. Diversity at it's best. The pools are great. If it gets any bigger, they will need 3 pools. Only complaint I have is the water pressure is very bad and the shower/bathrooms are not the cleanest. All in all, it's a great get a way.

A review of Mike Niese of Huggy Bear Campground, Middle Point, OH. The Georgia “Grandma” Price family has had three generations camping there for the last twelve years. She passed away September 15, her funeral was September 18, and before September 20, Mike Niese had promised her camping lot to someone else. Her lot was paid for through the end of the 2008 camping season. It would have been nice if Mike would have had the decency to ask the family what their intentions were regarding her camper and her camper lot. One of her last wishes was for her family to continue to go camping and keep that spot in the family. We enjoyed our years at Huggy Bear, but Mr. Niese is only in it for the money. He would sell out his own mother if someone promised to buy a park model from him! And, by the way, You CAN beat a Huggy Bear deal!
