I have friends that come to this hospital and rave about the doctors. I am sure the doctors are great, but unfortunately I never got to see one.

I came in one day with my pet as a walk in. I went to the counter, which has no sign in sheet and a receptionist named Erica acted like she didn't see me. I understand she was on the phone, so I waited. Not to mention it was a personal call she was having on the company's phone at that. Unless it was a client she was asking "what are you doing tonight?". Regardless, I stood waiting. Finally she hung up the phone and asked if she could help me. I signed the necessary paperwork and had a seat.

As I waited an hour (understandable because I was a walk in), she never reassured me that they were busy or gave me a time estimate. So I continued to sit there as she's was up there joking around with other staff members and not to mention the LANGUAGE coming from this young lady's mouth. She even chastized some fellow receptionists in front of clients! When I finally caught her attention, the ATTITUDE this girl turned around with as she barked at me, in front of a whole lobby of people AND her staff members "SIR I ALREADY TOLD YOU, YOU CAME IN AS A WALK IN. I CANT TELL YOU HOW LONG ITS GOING TO BE."

I understood I was a walk in, but after an hour you can't kill a guy for just checking in on the schedule. I just wanted an update on the doctor's status. But I guess I was being annoying. I guess that gave her a reason to speak to me as I was a child. So I waited a while longer and then figured, there are other hospitals. I don't need to sit here and take this.

I went to Caring Hands and I see why they have 5 stars. I am so upset about this situation. To Aventura Animal Hospital, your receptionists are supposed to be warm and welcoming. Not make me feel like I'm a bother. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. I am going to post this review to every website I can so that something can change in that hospital.

They only care about making money. I took my dog for a checkout because he was coughing and even showed video of his symptoms. Doctor said it was a back pain and gave him medication which caused him to have a heart attack and next morning he died. I took my dog to them in tears asking why they gave the wrong diagnostic and to provide him CPR and what made me upset is that they asked me for $600 to proceed with the CPR! I understand that people make mistakes and to give a wrong diagnostic is a human mistake but I do not understand how rude and cold they acted when they asked me for $600 when my dog was not breathing and they took 10 minutes to decide what to do.I was in shock, I could not believe that they asked me for money when my dog was dying. After my dog passed away, the nurse took him like a piece of garbage bag with one arm and carried him to the back like he was nothing. I hope your heart tells you which decision you should take if you are thinking in taking your dog here.

This is a place I would highly...

This is a place I would highly recommend. I have recently moved to this area and have no vet. i needed to take my 15 year old border collie in to be laid down, an extremely difficult thing to do. I made and cancelled several appointments before I finally knew i couldn't put it off. When I brought him in, we were treated with so much respect, the went at our speed, and the we we wanted. I didn't want to put my Scooby up on one of those tables, that would scare him further. The assistant layed out a blanket on the floor, the whole process was sweet and beautiful. Scooby looked so peaceful, he went in my arms. I am so grateful for Aventura Animal Hospital. The process was so difficult, but they did their best to make it smooth and as peaceful as possible. The most awesome thing they did: several days later, I was at the height of my grieving, I got a card in the mail. One side was all the clinic signing and on the other, beautiful , a saying by Eleanor Roosevelt:

"Many people will walk in and out of your life,

but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart"

and below that, my Scooby's footprint, that they must have taken after I left.

AND IT WAS SIGNED, SCOOBY.

All this from a clinic that I had never been to before?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM!!!

IF I get another pet, they have me as a loyal customer!

Great place

Last year, due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to board my two cats and my dog for three months while I looked for a new place to live. I was amazed and very impressed by the unbelievable care my pets received. My pets had never been boarded and certainly not for as long as I had to leave them but they did surprisingly well. One of my cats is deaf and I was concerned about how she would handle the boarding. I later found out that she had become a favorite of many of the staff because she was so friendly and loved to give nose kisses. The only issue they had with her was her weight. She is obese but we are working on it. My dog did well with the extra tlc playtime she got from the kennel staff. I was almost afraid they wouldn't want to come home with me once I found a place for us. I visited them almost daily as I searched for an affordable place that accepted pets. I still bring my dog to get bathed there and she loves it. It's like she's getting a break from being home all the time by hanging out with the kennel staff. I know where they'll go whenever I have to board my animals again.

Only The Best For My Best Friend, Fluffy!

I absolutely recommend this clinic to all my friends with pets. As a native New Yorker, I am used to only the best rated animal hospitals and boarding facilities. I did a lot of research before choosing my vet and in my online search, I found their website super-user-friendly. Its important for me to feel completely comfortable and confident in the veterinarians and staff that treat my Fluffy; she deserves no less! We loved the entire crew, their modern amenities, and Fluffy even found herself a new Aventura boyfriend. When my Fluffy is this happy and healthy- so am I.

Angels in Aventura!!

My cat was very sick. She had stopped eating, drinking, and was vomiting uncontrollably. The doctors treated her like if she were their own pet. The level of care that she received was phenominal. She did have an obstruction and required surgery and a feeding tube placed. The surgery went off without a hitch. The support staff there were very caring and accomodating. My kitty made a 100 % recovery. I believe the Staff @ Aventura Animal Hospital truely are angels. I recommend bringing your pets there so that they can be touched by angels as well. I LOVE Aventura Animal Hospital.

Compassionate Staff

I was so happy with the level of care I recieved when I brought my 15 year old Wheaten in during the " toxic food scare". During the physical Dr. Basto was able to determine an irregular heartbeat and recommend xrays. This was completely unrelated to my concerns of the bad food. The xrays showed something on his spleen and we scheduled an Ultrasound. This was done the very next day. What I liked about this was how quickly they were able to obtain a diagnosis and guide me in the correct direction for my pet. The end result was a tumor on the spleen and with the knowledgable hands of Dr. Mitchell, they were able to remove the whole tumor. I was amazed at the high quality of care and the amount of knowledge the staff had from the receptionists to the assistants. I will always bring my "children" to Aventura Animal Hospital. I couldn't think of a better place to care for them!

nothing but a legal scam at the expense of pet's health

This hospital's main interest is making money over the well-being of animals. I took my sick pet in because she hadnt been eating for a few days and was told by the vet that it needed further exams. I asked if it was going to die and they assured me that it wasnt critical. The vet told me that my pet needed X-rays and blood test to see what was wrong with it. Well that procedure was over $150 and naturally I couldnt afford it so I asked that my pet be given fluids instead so that at least it would stable for awhile. Well, my pet died just 4 hours later!! The vet did not have any experience with small animals! Otherwise, she shouldve told me the truth about my pet's health instead of giving of having me waste both time & money there w/ false hopes, when I shouldve been at home with my pet on its final hours - instead of her being uncomfortable at the clinic which is what happened. I know that the hospital isnt to blame for my pet dying, but they couldve been honest about the situation and not have tried to deceive me into thinking that it needed more work done when NOTHING couldve saved her at that point! To worsen the blow, when I phoned them about their mistake and for an explanation, they asked me if I was interested in burial information -- greedy to the end! The bill end up costing me $104 for a "service" that did more bad than good. I was legally scammed at the expense of my pet's health! Never again! Stay away!
