I took my dog there a few times this summer and she came back home happy and healthy. But this August (2008) I took her for the long weekend and two months later I am still suffering the consequences.
The first indication that something was wrong was when I picked her up and she smelled dirty even though I paid for a bath at the end of her stay. The next day, I was petting my dog and discovered that she was covered in ticks.... my husband and I proceeded to remove the ticks to discover she had both brown and american ticks. We gave her a flea and tick bath and re-applied Advantix. Two months and $200 later, I am still fumigating and killing ticks inside the house - both brown and american ticks... The situation is annoying, frustrating, and hazardous for us and my dog (not to mention the fact that I am pregnant and fumigating poses a health risk for my baby...)
My dog has never had a problem with ticks and I religiously put Advantix on her every month. We did not have a tick problem at the house (we have a very small yard with short grass and no trees). I also paid the $25 they charge to give her a ""flea and tick bath and preventinve collar"" at the beginning of her stay. Plus the $20 bath at the end of her stay. Either she did not receive her paid for bath, or they knowingly sent her home covered in ticks. She had over 25 ticks - any person giving a dog a bath would have discovered those ticks.
I would not recommend this place to anyone (unless of course, you don't mind a bunch of ticks crawling and laying eggs around your house and your bed!!!)

My name is Ceci Mora, I am the owner of Pet Limo Animal Care and Relocation Services. I have been working along with CCC for the last 16 years to date. I have yet one of my Customers to complain about the care of their pets. I personally board my family pet with them and reccomment them to all my customers and will continue to do so. Not only are the pets comfortable with their stay at CCC but all the Staff are highly trained to assure that all pets are well taken care of. I can speak with this assurity because I am very aware of the internal proceedures. Should anyone feel the need to contact me for a personal reference, please feel free to do so.

I have had my dog Bizzy for ten years now he's become somewhat of my "" baby"" as I'm sure most of your pets are to you. In early January I had a business trip the same week my mother, who usually cares for Bizzy, was going on vacation. I was extremely worried about where or with who to leave him. I thought of leaving him with his vet but i did not agree with the idea of having him in a cage for an entire week, even if they do walk him he needs an open area. Then i was suggested a dog walker but I didn't know who i should trust or how comfortable i felt with a stranger coming in my house when I'm not around and walking my pretty old and spoiled pet. Then i began to look at different boarding facilities. Amongst all of them Canine Country Club seemed like the perfect place for him and it certainly was. It was affordable, clean, comfortable, and the staff was great. I did not mind the precautions against ticks and fleas nor the need to show shot records because they showed the sense of responsibility the owners and staff felt toward its customers and their pets. My dog came back as happy as can be. I was able to call while i was gone and check on him. He's been back twice since then and with my mother getting older its becoming his ""home away form home."" I recommend this kennel for anyone who wants a safe and comfortable environment to leave their pets in while they're out of town.

I must disagree with the review I just read about Canine Country Club! I have been a loyal customer for over 10 years and have never experienced the problem that the first reviewer has conveyed. Shari (the previous owner) became ill a couple of years ago and struggled to maintain the high standard Canine Country Club was used to providing to its customers, however since her passing in Sept of 06 (May she rest in peace) Her daughter Christy and husband John have taken over the business and have done a wonderful job. John is a police dog trainer for his police dept so he has brought experience to the business also. My 3 dogs love to go there (almost too much) so much I don?t ever have to worry about them and the care they receive. I did speak with them about the review I read here and they advised me that at one time the business had a bit of a tick problem (2006) but have since revamped their procedure?s...i.e... Extermination; tick collars; flea and tick baths. They also advised me that they try to work with customers to save them money and by doing that they allow some dogs to go home without a bath (at owner's request) where most kennels require both a bath coming in and going out and charge you for it. Once again ""You get what you pay for!"" On a better note I would recommend Canine Country Club to anyone who is thinking about boarding their dog(s) I myself would never think about taking my babies to any other kennel and I love the personal attention their staff provides and its too bad that because some people want to save money they place the blame on others. Whatever happened to accountability for ones self and ones actions?

First let me introduce my dogs, they are both hairless chinese cresteds, about 15 lbs each and just over 1 year old. Hagen is white with block spots and Juba is mostly dark (blue grey) with a white belly and snout. They are extensively trained, very well behaved and are boarded frequently.
On a pre-scheduled 2 night/3 day trip this past weekend, our usual kennel was closed for their annual vacation which left us scrambling to find an alternative as the hotel we were staying at was not dog friendly so taking them wasn't an option.
Our vet, South Kendall Animal Hospital, recommended Canine Country Club to us.
We were charged $26 per night ($13 per dog), so $78 total which included food (bring your own toys and chew toys). We dropped them off on Friday around 10 am and picked them up on Monday around 7 am. They also offer grooming and bathing. When we picked the boys up on Monday morning it was obvious Hagen was sunburned on his back, and Juba was sunburned on his snout. Also, they were really dirty and they smelled disgusting. I can only say they have never smelled so bad. They seemed unhappy and were eager to get into the car. I didnt feel like they had a good time at all and felt really guilty.
In fairness, for an extra fee, CCC would have bathed them for us. However, we normally pick them up and bathe them ourselves. I can't believe they would get so dirty and disgusting after only a couple of days in an indoor/outdoor run. If I was a kennel owner, I would be embarassed to let some one pick their dogs up looking so dirty and smelling so foul.
We had to bathe them immediately upon returning home and, in addition to the fact that they were sunburned, found ticks inside Hagens ears and ticks on Juba's head and chest. I was disgusted. I felt so bad and will never even consider taking my dogs back.
I have advised South Kendall Animal Hospital so they know what kind of place they are recommending.
