If you want to experience really traditional Cuban food in Miami Beach where the locals go, you got to try David's Café. The place has been around since the Late 70's and just expanded there location on Collins to ginormous. The food is amazing and the service feels like you are part of the family. The café con leche is out of this world. They cut back the prices to give back during this recession and yet there portions have stayed the same. Talk about family! You got to try the palomia steak with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. My friends and I go there a few times a week and especial during the weekend since they are open 24-7. I was born in Miami Beach and was raised going to David's Café and got to tell you it's the goods. The owners Alfredo and Merita are the cutes! They make me feel like there are my parents. Alex the waiter always knows what I want to eat depending the day and knows how I like my café con leche. All I am saying is there are many other places out there, but if you want the really goods go to David's Café I of II. Cheers..
Stopped by here on our recent trip to South Beach - with the large amount of restaurants (particularly on Lincoln) we decided to basically find the one that was the busiest but still have a spot available to sit outside. Truly we couldn't have made a better decision. The drinks were great (heavy-poured and worth the $$) and the food was wonderful. The price was right too. There were 4 of us in the group and we all had a wonderful meal. We tried a different Italian restaurant the next night and all 4 of us agreed that Rosinella was much better (and was the cheaper choice surprisingly). Definitely going back when I make my next Miami trip. It was busy and I do not remember the wait being all that bad...but we were also there on vacation and working on a much slower pace of life.
After traveling all day and just arriving in SoBe, we walked down Lincoln Rd. and looked at menus of various places. This place had a few things that sounded good, and it was really the only place with any crowds outside (October), so we gave it a shot. We ordered mixed drinks, wine, and entrees. The drinks took a while to arrive and they were about standard for SoBe. The pasta of the night was so-so. It was no different than what you could get any Italian restaurant in the city. But the Pizza Gorgonzola ($10.95) was FABULOUS. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. We actually went back another night just for this pizza.
We were in South beach with our family and wanted to have some drinks and refreshment and we saw this very nicely decorated resturant Oceans 10 and decided to stop by. To our surprise we got the most unusual experience of enjoying not only the wonderful hospitality of the staff but heard the most entertaining live band lebedo. We were a party of 6 which included 2 young girls of 7 and 4 years 2 seniors age 70yrs and 2 young adults. We all had wonderful time. We just wanted to stop by for a little while instead we stayed on till late and had dinner too. This visit will be one of the memorable evinings in Mami.
first time in ocean drive ambience, Columbus Restaurant delivered good quality service although their food you may say is average yet tastefulour group of 5 was happy with our choices (salmon, steak, salads, pizzas) they offer a variety to satisfy many tastes, and you can even combine options upon requestconsidering that their waitress saved us from the pouring rain, the "service charge" was more than deservedwe are unfamiliar with other places in this neighborhood but certainly this establishment sets a good standard for its competitors nearby
Very good, fresh food and great service. I'm down for two weeks and have eaten here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. I've had an appetizer, two salads, fish of the day, pasta, and a desert. Except for the desert (mediocre cheesecake that the server tried to dissuade me from), everything has been very good. The service has been even better: personable, cheerful, responsive, and efficient. I even ordered off-menu once with no trouble, taking items from various dishes and having them combined into something special.
Went here for lunch on a cold Sunday in SOBE. I do t know what's up with some reviewers, they only add 15% for gratuity and this is less than most SOBE restaurants who tack on 18%. We both had gyro plates and they were very nice and filling. And reasonably priced. Our waitress was attentive and quick, so the others whining about that, maybe the evening staff is different. Look, you're not in Greece, ok. It's somewhat Americanized, but the food is tasty and reasonable and you should be leaving a 15% tip anyway.
For most locals, Ocean Drive is a place to cross just to get to the beach, but in my case I had my family of four stop at Columbus Restaurant after a sunny day of fun. We ordered pizza and pasta for the kids, my hubby ordered steak New York style, I had a nice plate of seafood linguini. We were seated outside, our waitress was very eager to serve our table and took care of many details that we appreciated very much.Prices are the normal for a hotel place like The Colony but all in all I think it was worth it.
So far only Italian place that has amazing food. I am a big Italian eater and this is the only one is Miami I am in love with. The Alfredo sauce is so yummy. I think they make it by scratch because its too yummy to be from a bottle. It's not a place for you to go and get crazy. The place is supper chilled, laid back, and awesome for a date. Everyone speaks Italian and the owners make it feel like a Italian home with pictures of their Italian mother cooking. Love it!
starting with the service, our waiter Puma was attentive, polite, informative and very good! the menu was not even close to how amazing the food was.. the Octopus app was not only tasty but nicely presented in black heated skillet, the fresh flat pasta meal w/ fresh tender meats and mushrooms, peppers was incredible with the home made crusty breads just all fit the puzzle for a great experiance. we will come again! ALL the way from Connecticut!!!
