Always have a great time with great food.
Great food great atmosphere!! Great for that date night don't want to go far place. Recommending this place to all my friends!!
I tried to use a $50 gift certificate for a $50 lunch tab. The restaurant gift certificate was a $50 paper voucher sold to my elderly mother by the owner, for $50 cash . There was no expiration date on it, but it was about a year old. The owner refused to accept it, and he wouldn't come out of the kitchen to discuss it with me. He already had the money, so he didn't care what I had to say. He sent a trembling teen to face an upset customer. The explanation I was given was that they now use a plastic card gift certificate, and they don't accept the paper ones anymore. So I had to pay him, AGAIN, for food I would have not even ordered without the gift certificate. If I wouldn't have had my child with me, I would have walked out without paying, and presented the $50 certificate to the police he would have no doubt called for skipping the bill. What a horrible experience, and a terrible businessman.
this place is just amazing you have both in one, Seafood and Steak , cant never compete against that you can have both at the same time eat the dubble. so when you come her with someone and you want Seafood but they want steak theirs no problem you dont have to leave to another restaurant. they have it here. or other way around you want steak and they want Seafoood. food is well cooked service is great and environment is perfect. you get well recieved. you should come and try this place out
my first instinct was to write this review while I was still in the restaurant, sick to my stomach. but I waited until today to calm down and think a bit. But, after being sick all night...here goes. This is not the Deanie's from days gone by, or even the Deanie's from a year or two ago. The food was bland, overcooked, and no taste whatsoever. The biggest disappointment was the onion rings, they used to come out in MOUND, to be observed while the waitress carried the platter through the dining room. Now, it was 6 pitiful rings on a decorative skillet. The grease used to fry the catfish, shrimp ect was so old and overused, all you tasted was GREASE, and continued to taste it well after you left. The worst part was the "crawfish po'boy"...this was the nastiest thing I've ever tasted. The crawfish were from the freezer and tasted rotten...after you chewed them for a while a stale fish taste came over your mouth and caused you to gag. We did send that back and it was taken off the bill, but still...for a restaurant to serve that in the first place was unacceptable. The BBQ shrimp, overcooked and placed in a dish of hot worcestershire sauce...pitiful. I am highly disappointed in Deanie's, this used to be THE GO-TO place for seafood...now, it's the place you go to if you're suffering severe constipation and want to pay $200 for relief. Never again, there are way too many other seafood places that won't get you sick.
Average food but the specials are worth the price
We got cursed out in front of our kids by the owner. For asking about the 18% for a party of 2 adults and 3 kids. Then he wanted to go outside too fight.
Not in press with the restaurant the only good thing over there was the bang bang shrimp.
some of the best grilled oysters in the city!!!
