Great food

The food was unbelivebly great..What a hidden gem..The vera lasagna was the best i ever had..I also got the angel hair pasta with mushrooms & crab meat with panne pork with cream sauce..Blew me away ! The pork paper thin & fried .The pork taste like baby veal.Must try !!!! Also the ceasar salad was soo good. The cheese was so fresh it gave it a great flavor..I did notice you could bring your on wine.Which is really good.I'm assuming there's just a cork fee..Please don't tell too many people about this gem..I don't want it getting too crowded..

an Italian-American

Yesterday at 5pm my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner of Cannelloni stuffed with shrimp and crayfish...it was served with angel hair pasta (we asked for this instead of the menu pasta and we also asked for a side topping of the garlic butter sauce and marinara) and our requests were not a problem!... their homemade italian bread and dipping oil served prior to our meal was very good and they didn't mind that we also asked for butter as that is what my husband prefers to the oil!...we had our choice of a soup with the meal and the special of the night was oyster-artichoke...I usually order their tomato basil as this is my favorite...I have been there many times for lunch and dinner and the staff has always been courteous and attentive...I would give it 4 stars...P.S. I have been frequenting this establishment since it first opened and had only 1 small room for customers and now it has expanded to include a larger room as well!...I like the ambiance experienced while there also!

Great Experience

I can't think of enough positive words to describe my experience at this restaurant. Although it took a few minutes to get a table and it is nesteled in the corner of a boring strip mall, I had an Italian feast. The waitress and staff with both very timely and attentive. I ordered the lasagna for dinner, it was very well prepared and served at the appropriate tempartuture. Which can be hard for lasagna. It was a huge portion for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. The garlic bread starter, and salad where both very pleasent. This is as good Italian food as you are ever going to find in a strip mall.

MISSISSIPPI BURNING - NOT WORTH IT !!!!!!!!

My friends and I went to this restaurant thinking we might find a great restaurant in an unlikely area.
We were SO wrong. We should have walked out immediately had we realized we were walking back in time to Mississippi in the 1950s. Needless to say, this is definitely worse than Mississippi Burning.
First off, the service was deplorable and on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, it would be in the negative number. We were intentionally ignored while other ""patrons"" who came in after us got such better service. Of course, the only thing different between us and the other patrons were the color of our skins. Sad to say, these things still exist in Metairie. Let's not even mention the food which was mediocre at best. I rather eat at Burger King, at least you can have it your way and they don't care how you look like. The service is always the same. (at burger king).
This restaurant prides itself in the ""trattoria"" Italian cooking; however, they could have save everyone the trouble by being honest and just hanging a Confederate Flag or a burning cross next to the open sign.
I bet the people who works in the nail salon next to them wouldn't give a rave review either.

In addition, the waiter needs special mentioning. ""Zack"" or whatever his name was who waited on us, needs to either be fired or someone needs to let him know that it's 2007 not the 1950s and that he should treat all paying customers the same way. He's lucky that he even receives a tip from us.

I definitely would NOT RECOMMEND this hell hole to anyone, even my friends of different colors.
