Amazing charbroiled oysters! Great Mexican Restaurant with great combination of New Orleans' Cajun flavors that we all love in River Ridge and all around Louisiana. Delicious!

Went here for lunch. The gumbo was phenomenal.
I went here for the first time yesterday and I must say...I was impressed. I didn't expect their shrimp poboys to be so authentic and delicious but it was. Their onion rings are to die for as well. The housemade onion ring sauce was good, but the only thing for me about that is it could be more tangy or spicy instead of the overwhelming taste of mayo. You can definitely tell it's over 90% mayo based with less "zang". It was still good though. The shrimp were fried perfectly! They were not overcooked nor under cooked. The seasoning on it was grrrreat! The bread was perfect! It had that fluff that authentic New Orleans French bread is supposed to have. Parran's is a must stop shop :).
Wow. Today I took mom to lunch at R&O's restaurant in Bucktown. Sadly, we'll probably never go back. When I got home I flipped on the TV & saw our overweight waitress from today (Deedee, the owner's niece) on an episode of the Food Network's Mystery Diners that was recently filmed with hidden cameras in R&O's. She did disgusting things with a diner's poboy (rubbed his poboy bread under her fat, sweaty boobs) & was physically bullying coworkers. There's lots of buzz that Mystery Diners is completely staged, and if it is, why would the owner of a thriving restaurant allow this kind if behavior to go on the air? After what I saw today, I don't think I can return, even though both of our meals were truly excellent. Nothing there will taste good again.
