No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
It’s time to bring long sleeves and long pants out of storage, prep your home and car, and contact the cool weather home/yard contractors.
If you love your ride (2002 cbr600 f4i) as much as I do, you know it can be really difficult to find a good sportbike shop in mesa. Sure, that may sound crazy for a big city... but do you know how many rip-offs are out there?! You've got to be careful! Adrenaline performance is officially my go to spot for any repairs to my baby. For good reason: they're skilled, knowledgable, entertaining, quick, and extremely thorough. To be honest with you, I had never been as pleased as I was then when I had called adrenaline. It was one of the first weekends of sub 90 degree weather in a while since summer started and POP - I ran over a bolt that an idiot dropped in the hov lane on the 202 and desperately needed a new back tire to make it home. That and underwear as this was the first time ive ever had to try and slow to a stop with a flat tire. I called up a few shops and was quoted anything from 175-225 for a new or slightly used tire and pickup including labor and because it was so late my bike would most likely have to sit overnight (or until highway patrol towed it lol). Well, Siitting overnight was not an option.Adrenaline had the best price and was the closest to my unfortunate tire problem so I had the owner Jeremy come pick me and my bike up with no real expectations. When we arrived at the shop, I was promptly greeted by two guys at the front counter. They were extremely inviting and although the place was closing in about 30 mins or so and obviously busy, they took my bike in without any problem. In fact, they seemed happy I had chosen them. That was refreshing! Anyway, long story short they fixed my bike and even let me try on some cool new leathers. We had a really great conversation in the twenty or so minutes it took for them to fix her up, too. Here's the best part: I was so excited my bike was back in action, I couldn't wait to take it outside for a test ride. Before I hopped on, I saw that their mechanic (mike I believe) had tightened up a few bolts that were loose on the windscreen and went out of his way to even tighten up my phone-holder. WHOA. I was really surprised that someone took time out of their day to do something like that...for no reason. I know it probably didn't take him long or mean much to him, but that gesture meant a lot to me. That kind of genuine customer service is hard to come by these days and as long as I'm in Arizona, I'll find it very difficult to go anywhere else for my riding needs. Thanks jeremy, mike, and others at Adrenaline!
People, I have used this shop almost since they first opened some four years ago or so. I called Tim with an urgent issue (I can't even remember what it was now!) and he brought me in that day to take care of it. That was my first time meeting him and I was so impressed I decided to switch shops that day. I have two high-mileage Toyota vehicles over 10 years old, and these guys were awesome and honest in everything they did to help me take care of them and keep them running. They always gave me the straight story, gave me options, and went the extra mile to provide solutions within my budget. Only one time did a problem come up with the work done, and they totally owned it and took care of it for no charge. Their work is guaranteed because their integrity and customer satisfaction is what is important to them. I recently had to move out of state and I am suffering from withdrawals. These guys are like part of my family and my cars and I really miss them now that we are out of state. Trust me, even if you have to drive a distance to get there, these are the only people you want working on your car. Tim and company, thank you so much for taking care of us so well, you have no idea how much it helped me and my family to have such a great auto repair team we could trust! Nathan J.
I took my 05' Commemorative Edition Dodge SRT-4 to at least 3 other shops in the area, and got quoted 2500-3500 dollars for a USED transmission, when I brought it in for an excessive rattle when I let the clutch out in neutral. When I walked through Toplines door, I was immediately greeted by Chris, whom spoke to me very down to earth, and clearly explained evering. He asked me to wait a while, because it might just be something simple! (Note, I didn't tell him what other shops quoted me) After no more than 45 minutes, Chris came out to tell me it had nothing to do with my transmission, and was simply excessive clutch chatter from a worn throwout bearing and input shaft. Expecting at least 1500, I immediately said get it done to a quote of only 550 bucks out the door!!!! This shop has got to be the most honest place I have ever been to. Took 2 days, and Chris himself drove me home and back when it was done. I don't know what these other people below me are talking about, perhaps during older management? I know a good, honest place when I see it, and being mechanically inclined, They did a fantastic job, chatter is gone, and they even rerouted my turbo vacuum lines that another shop had just thrown in wherever...
All to often people will use the internet to post negative reviews/complaints on companies when things go wrong and rarely people post positive remarks and give credit to companies for doing a good job. I too have been one of these people in the past so I decided to give my honest review on Cycle Bob's because it's well overdue. I have been going to Bob for well over 7 years now dating back to when he was located on Williams Field Rd in Gilbert (he's currently located off Pecos Rd a few miles east of his old location) Bob has always done a superb job on every bike/Atv I have brought to him. I ride hard and break stuff all the time so he see's me often. Bob knows his stuff and never cuts corners! I recently had a full engine rebuild and added cams and all the goodies! I couldn't be happier with the way my quad runs and the extra horsepower it puts out now. I would strongly recommend using Cycle Bobs! There's a lot of terrible and I mean terrible places in the valley to get your toys repaired at and this is NOT one of them! Thank you for always coming through, getting me out of jams and back on the trails! Sincerely, Dustin
This is a good bunch of people. They lost their owner, Bruce, who passed away December 2009. They specialize in "we fix the six." Means they specialize in Gold Wing & Valkyrie motorcycles which use a flat 6 cylinder engine. They work on most any other bike. They are not perfect and if they break something they will replace it so long as you make a reasonable case that they broke it or they already know they did. They did it for me, Rocky in Mesa. I was referred to them by someone on the Valkyrie list since the dealer Apache on Clearview Ave near Baseline in E. Mesa told me they would not work on my bike after it turned 10 yrs old. These guys assured me they'd work on my 1998 Valkyrie for a long time to come and showed me 1980s bikes on which they still work. Even work on Harleys, but mostly Japanese brands and some Brit bikes I've seen in there. Fair people, work's out on time and a fair price. I am always grateful to the private garages because you get to know them personally and because it's their business and they have their heart in it. It's not just a drudgery job to them. They love what they do. Rocky in Mesa
I would recommed this place to anyone!!! Had My car at Fl------rs and was almost in tears when they told Me " they couldnt let Me drive out of there because My brakes were so bad" I drove in just fine. After what I felt like being taken advantage of, I reviewed Mesa AZ auto repair shops, and Tunex had the BEST rating for anyone in town. After inspecting My car, they said a plastic bag had gotten caught on My exhaust and was causing a burning smell, not My brakes!!! Their technician scraped most of it off and guess what My repair bill was, 0-zip-nada!!!! I couldnt believe there are still great great great honest repair shops out there, this is the best one, I got My oil changed there, didnt try to "sell" Me anything, told Me about My radiator hoses being over 10 years old, and I even gave some cute guy behind the counter a hug, because He was so gracious, and wouldnt accept any payment for the melted grocery bag they removed. They deserve 10 stars, and I am recommending all My friends to there, Thanks Tunex!!!!! You guys rock, and are cute too!!!
This business is a fantastic vehicle repair shop, specializing in cars and trucks of most makes, models, and years. The owner and manager, Jake, is extremely knowledgeable about both American and foreign vehicles and is able to intelligently discuss most repairs and problems relating to your vehicle during a visit or call to his shop. If you have had questions or problems which you need to discuss with a mechanic, he is particularly helpful and willing to explain the repairs needed or recommended for your vehicle. With both cars that I have taken to him for repairs over the past few years, I have been very impressed by his knowledge, expertise, fairness, honesty and fair prices on each of the repairs that I have needed. Also, I have not felt pressured to do repairs that are not immediately needed at the time, but have only been informed about the future need to have those repairs done. Excellent shop and service which I drive out of the way to have my vehicles serviced by Jake.
I made my first visit to Affordable Auto Care in March iof 2013. I had two cars worked on, and I have never been happier with an Auto Care Provider. I found the company to be fast, reliable, HONEST, and affordable. After being told by a previous auto care provider that my Xterra needed rear brakes asap, I was drawn to Affordable Auto Care because of their great prices. Atfer leaving the Xterra with them I received a call before I even made it home. They notified me that my rear brakes had lots of life left to them, and that we did not need to do the rear brakes. I was shocked! Honesty from an auto car provider?!? I was amazed. On top of being fast, reliable, honest, and affordable, their customer service is astounding. I have never had such a great experience in getting my car worked on. I have already shared my expierence here with my friends and family and I would recmonned Affordable Auto Care to ANYONE!!!
I highly recommend this business for anyone who needs any type of Auto Service. I had an engine leak and took my car to the dealership and they came back with a 1800 dollar cost. I always get a second quote so I looked up on yellowpages.com for a auto repair shop in mesa and found Supreme Auto Repair. I took my car in and Firas the owner walked me back and showed me under the car what my problem was. He also explained why it happens and what maintenance my vehicle needed. This would never happen at the dealership I thought. When he wrote up my quote I couldnt believe that it was only 785 dollars for doing the exact repairs the dealership was. Needless to say I did not hesitate to tell him to go ahead and fix it. Another bright note was on my invioce it stated Free Oil Change and I new my wifes car needed one so she drove over and had her car oil changed. Thank you Firas.
I had an exceptional service experience with Top Line Auto Service. Moved here from out of state, where my Dad is my mechanic, was so apprehensive on going to a new mechanic. The owner Chris showed and explained to me what was wrong with my Xterra, and gave me different options with full details and prices on repairs. I appreciated the he and his mechanics made sure the transmission and other vital parts of my Xterra were in working condition before I placed an order for new motor, so as not to waste my money. The new motor was installed quickly, Chris even had his mechanics replace and fix other compartments free of charge to ensure my new motor wouldn’t be affected. It’s great to have an honest mechanic, who still values his customers and quality work from his mechanics. I highly recommend Top Line Auto Service!!!
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
