Was called because dryer was not heating, now it is worse dryer will not heat at all. Service man seemed upset because the dryer is in a tight area and it was hot. Told me he checked the dryer and all was fine. I used the dryer for the first time Sunday and it was not working. Very poor job!!!!
After 2 1/2 weeks and four visits, a competent technician finally repaired our refrigerator. The first technician misdiagnosed the problem and ordered a part that was not necessary. He then came back for the third visit and ordered several more parts. Basically, we got a completely refurbished refrigerator, but the original technician obviously had no diagnostic skills - order every large component and hope that one was the problem. The fourth visit was a technician who, to our relief, was competent. However we were without an operating refrigerator for 2 1/2 weeks - TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Now I understand why Sears is going under financially.
Service person was on time, communication from Sears on his arrival was terrific. He was knowledgeable, communicated well and repair was made efficiently, and the quote beforehand was helpful in our decision to make the repair. Will use Sears Appliance Repair on all future needs.
Would not recommend. 1st call for service on a broken washer, Sears couldn't come fast enough to complete repair; however, after a single washing it was clear that nothing had changed. When I called to tell them they had to come back, they wanted to come out the next week (???) instead of coming right back to fix something already paid for. Finally, I spoke with a supervisor who said they'd have someone out the next day. 2nd tech basically found something completely different wrong with it, and I ended up paying basically the price of a new washer to have an old (but not too old) unit fixed. Would not recommend. Ever.
The repairman was very polite. He did not have a replacement ice maker to install. Said it would take a week to get a new one. It just so happens that a few years ago Sears sent me an ice maker in the mail and the repairman had one on his truck, so I had a spare for this repairman to use on 6-7. Also, no phone call in advance of him showing up, not even in a sears labeled truck.
My fridge and freezer quit working one evening after supper. I called for service at 7:45 am the next day and by 10:00 am I had an experienced repair person and a trainee at my front door. They quickly assessed the problem, had to leave to get the part that they needed, and were STILL done before noon. Very Happy.
I waited 7 hours for the repair man to come to fix my washer. Finally at 4:30 in the afternoon I got a call from customer service, they did not know why the repair man never showed up. She offered to come back out 4 days later. I told her NO, they came the
following morning. And you wonder why Sears is going down the tube!
$238 to repair a kenmore dishwasher rack (yes, just the rack) purchase 14 months ago from local sears store. 2nd break of same item. Repair was so popular he had parts with him and said "yup, it breaks a lot". More than once had to say no thank you to $30/month warranty for the dishwasher as we have a home warranty. Very unwelcome continued sales push. Pushed wife as well. Service personnel then called and also tried to sell. Wife stated I will not buy Kenmore anymore and serviceman stated "well then, guess you hate maytag, jennair, etc..." unbelievably rude. Avoid at ALL cost.
the service man was pleasant...clean cut and polite.. After 2 hrs he said done... next day when I started a load of clothes machine did the same thing as before.. problem was not fixed.. called they are sending out another tech.. hope this one knows what they are doing.. payed for 2 hrs of service and parts for something that wasn't the problem...
The appointment was easy to set up. The repair woman came at the beginning of the 4 hour time slot, listened to the troubleshooting I had already done, quickly diagnosed the problem and repaired my Kenmore water softener. Good job! HOWEVER, the problem was a design flaw and the unit is just over a year old. It needed a work-around to overcome the issue. Not so good.
Terrible. I will never buy another Sears warranty, absolutely useless. And no one tells you this even when I clearly stated the problem (which was a flaw in manufacturing, not covered!), they just send out repair people and waste hours and hours of my time, try to sell me on other services, all to end up with nothing. Wasted time, wasted money!
