I have gone to this Visionworks twice in the past several years, and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the store is bright and clean, and I had no problem finding several frames I liked. The only problem was choosing between them all! The glasses are high-quality and will last for years with proper care. I will definitely return the next time I need glasses, and I also highly recommend Visionworks!

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had when it comes to customer service. I walked into the store and waited literally 34 minutes before I was finally greeted by a sales associate or she was possibly a manager. I walked around looking at frames for at least 25 minutes and the 4 sales associates who were there walked pass and around me continuously. I had to go to the center of the floor and stand with with 5 pairs of frames in my hand before an associate who was stocking the shelves asked me, without even looking in my direction, If I was with the lady in the back (another African American) and I replied, "No, I'm alone and I've been in need of assistance for the last 30 minutes..." She tries to talk over me to drown out my complaining and ushers me over to the nearest desk and suddenly she transformed into this somewhat concerned associate. The really sad part was the fact that they weren't even busy. Associates kept coming from the back along with optometrist and they were just standing around gossiping about upcoming personal plans and events, One manager was talking about walking over to Tmobile and letting them charge her phone,,, I witnessed 6 different customers walk into the store and be greeted and helped while I was simply ignored for 34 minutes. I'm still in shock and upset over this entire experience. If it were not for the great deal they offered, i would have simply walked out and called their corporate office to file a complaint.
If I were you, I'd avoid this place at all costs. Makes sense that all the previous reviews are filtered, since they are obviously from employees. I take great pleasure in being the first objective review. The dynamic of this place is like a comedy of errors, which probably not the best environment to have as a health care provider.Let's start from the top, or the bottom rather.1. They were supposed to ship my eye glasses to me, but messed up the order entirely. This meant that I waited 10 days for them to arrive. When they didn't come in the mail, I called to find out that they put the order down as an in office pick up. Since I used a GroupOn, I was fine visiting an office 40 mins away once. This required me to make the trip out again. They knew this, didn't care, wouldn't overnight the glasses. Customer service is not a priority here.2. They have 2 ladies who are the receptionists, and they are funny for the wrong reasons (more inappropriate than anything else). As you sit in the waiting room, they entertain you with all the gossip of Northwest Indiana (which is mind numbing), off colored jokes (some of it is casually racist), strategies used for their online games, and random/annoying questions posed to you. It's probably best to let your patients read the magazines in peace and quiet if you have nothing positive to offer them in the way of conversation.3. When I drove all the way back to pick up my glasses, I inevitably had to speak with one of the receptionists to pick up my order. The ineptitude was definitely apparent when they messed up my order (probably because they were too busy making fun of their mutual friends and/or minorities), however these clownish people took it to another level. Here is the conversation that took place:Me: Hello, I am here to pick up my eye glasses.Clownish Receptionist: Huh!?!?! Oh yea!! You're that guy with the very odd name. What is it again?!?!!? Ruggabeev Juwannabeers.Me: My name isn't odd. My name is ZeshawnClownish Receptionist 2: Aburururr, you're name is unique!!!I just stood there. Finally, I got my glasses. The doctor himself...Dr. Samarjizzdlla, or whatever (I guess the theme of butchering names is commonplace here, so I shall partake), is pretty lousy too. It really reflects on his entire practice from the ground up.Makes sense that the ground level up to him....isn't really that far apart in professionalism & class.
I have a 5 year old daughter. I purchased a pair of glasses from our optometrist and two pair from Vision Works. I have had nothing but trouble from the two pair I purchased from Vision Works. I have had scratches on one of the pair twice and the other has scratches on them now. This is the second pair that we purchased from the optometrist and we have never had any scratches on the ones we purchased from the optometrist. We know she doesn't abuse the glasses because we are with her all the time and we watch her. The only time she is not with us, she is at school in kindergarten and the teachers watch her. My husband and I even wash the glasses ourselves. I have attempted to speak with the manager regarding the problem, but was told that it was our fault. I then attempted to contact the customer service, but was just referred back to the manager. No good customer service.
