My child has had Master Bobby McRaven as head karate instructor since May 2011. Within the first couple of weeks, teachers at school were already noticing an increase of self-confidence and focus in my child. My husband or I take our child to classes 3-4 times a week. At least one of us has been at every class and event our child has been a part of. We have never felt the need to question the professionalism, knowledge or instruction provided by Master McRaven. Being able to teach so many students of different ages, abilities and personalities requires one to have a lot of patience, flexibility, respect and discipline. Master McRaven shows determination and does not give up on his students even when they are giving up on themselves. He motivates them and seeks out ways to help them reach their next goal. We can see that going to the studio and teaching classes is not just a job to him. He loves what he does and is proud of his students. He does not just teach karate techniques but helps instill lifelong positive behaviors and habits into his students. They listen to him when he teaches them about the history of what they are learning. He talks with them about bullying and shows them what to do in different situations. He makes sure each student understand that there is a proper time and place for using karate. We are very grateful for what he has done for our child and that he has helped us with instilling Honor, Respect, Discipline, Integrity and Humility. I look forward to the big grin on my child’s face while fist bumping or getting a high five from Master McRaven at the end of each class.
