I would give this store, with the current management and employees, 2 and one-half stars. The current manager was overwhelmed by my recent return. I ordered shoes via the internet and had them delivered to his store, saving shipping charges. I walked into the store and stated that I was there to pick up an order. The manager looked behind him for my order. He seemed confused not to find it there. He started to walk to the stockroom to look for my shoes. He stopped and asked if I had received a phone call. I said no and he started to walk back towards me. I stated that I received an email stating that my shoes were at his store. He turned and found my shoes in the stockroom. I tried the shoes on, to make sure they fit, before leaving the store. Of the nine pair I ordered, only 4 were acceptable. There is not a consistency in size or width in Payless shoes. One pair was very cheap looking- no sale. I took the shoes up to the register, that I didn't want, for a refund. The manager seemed irritated. He asked what my reason was for returning the shoes. I explained. He proceeded to state that I probably didn't know my "Payless" shoe size and that he would be willing to measure my foot. Twice he said this. He said most or all of these shoes were available in his store. He seemed exasperated with me. A line began to build behind me. The manager became more flustered. I am not a newbie to Payless shoes. I know my size. I bought these shoes online at a considerable discount. I bought them for basically what they are worth....maybe. No one should pay full price for Payless shoes. I received a phone call from an employee at this store about a week later. She said your order is in. I said I already picked up my order. She said if you don't want it, don't worry about it and hung up.
I think this location needs improvement. The customer service is always great. I can't complain about that at all. The problem is that they don't stock enough of womens and mens clothing. The size I need is hardly ever there because it is sold out. The clothing styles at this location is not as good as another location that I recently visited. When it is time for a new season clothing line to come out, they replace all of the existing seasons clothing and put it away or something. I can't even find it on the clearance rack. They need to keep both seasons out on the racks at least until the existing season is OVER. I was in last week buying shorts and came in the very next week (literally a couple days later) again to get more shorts and poof they are gone! They had plenty of shorts when I was there the first time. The other issue I have at this location is that the fitting room area always smells bad. The fitting room is connected to the bathroom like other locations. I think they need to step up on there cleaning skills. I will continue to shop here even with all that was said.
I have bought quite a few purses and shoes form there mostly they have good selections of those most of the time but i cant stand how messy the store is everything is thrown everywhere they dont have enough lines open up and you are always in the lines forever the lat time i went to this location was about 3wks ago and when i was in the junior dept an older associate she was constantly following me and ive never experienced that in all the times that i went there and i bought like 200 dollar worth of things and she followed me all the wayto the register and i didnt like that at all so i notified the manager and i called the corporate ofice to b/c that made me mad and plus i gave the associate a piece of my mind i go to wolfchase and oak court all the time and never have been followed so i dont know if i will still shop at this location i will go to the park location from now on
I bought my 13yr old daughter a pair of Birkenstock Arizonas from Mr. Baumer and later she decided she wanted a pair of Birkenstock milanos for school because at her school sanders must have back strap. Well they didn't stock them in the color she wanted and the factory was out of her size and didn't know when they would make more. So I figured "forget Birkenstocks with strap". Well about a month or so later the phone rang and it was Mr Baumer and he had a pair if we still wanted them. Now that's "old school" customer service. And local also, I'm hooked! He also told me he "resoles" Birkenstocks in house with about a week turnaround. I'll be back.
Hey, my name's Tyler, people call me Ty. I'm in need of a job, hard work isn't an issue for me, in fact in a year I'll probably be in charge of the store. I work in any condition, I've worked from outdoors installing pest control systems to working in a Little Caesars. I have many talents that include computer skills because I'm a total nerd. I'm a musician, I've been playing piano for 13 years. I am working on just becoming the best at everything I do, like I said, I'm a hard worker. I only ask that from this small summary of myself that you take me into consideration for working at your location. (no rhyme intended lol)

This is the best shoe repair shop I have ever been to. The owner, Rev. Jones, not only does excellent work, he is an inspiration to talk with. He gave me "a blessing" by repairing my purse handle for free when he repaired the straps to my purse. I will pass his "blessing" along, and hopeful that person will pass on my "blessing". What a greater world this will be if we ALL do this. " Thank you Rev. Jones!
Shopped today 8/16/10 about 4pm and the young gentlemen was very helpful and asked questions to make sure the shoe fit. Not only that, the store actually had the size and I did not have to run around to other stores. Also, we are an active duty military family for 18+ years and he gave us a military discount. THANK YOU!
My husband took a pair of work boots to have them resoled. Personally I didn't think the boots could be fixed but we picked them up on the day stamped for pick-up and I was surprised as to what a wonderful job he did at fixing those boots, they looked like new. A good job at a great price. I give this retailer 5 stats.
