No resident should feel like office staff are not taking their concerns/problems in their apartment seriously. The property manager is unfriendly and very cold towards the concerns that I brought to her attention. If anything, she seems more annoyed and bothered to have to deal with the issue. I've only been here for about 60 days and I've experienced excessive bugs, mice in my bathroom, loud noises from a broken generator outside of my bedroom, and terrible parking. These are the types of things that you want to know prior to signing a lease anywhere, especially if you are paying $1,000 for an out of date one bedroom apartment. If I would have known that these were the types of issues that I would have to deal with moving over here, I would have stayed in the Germantown area where I did not have to experience none of the above and saved my money. I regret signing my lease with Estates at River Pointe and I hope anyone considering this place do their research prior to making a decision to live here. This is one complex on Mud Island that makes the experience of living on a "beautiful island" not worth it.
They are running a racketeering scam with local towing companies to charge you $300 if you are caught taking your groceries in. and the car is lift unattended for 30 minutes. I had my lights on, windows down and the car running and they stole my car. They both pull in thousands of dollars a month.
***UNSAFE*** Do not move to these apartments!!! I have been a resident for 2 years, and there have been several armed robberies, dozens of vehicles burglarized, and gunshots fired on apartment grounds frequently. My vehicle has been broke into 3 times, lease is up next month, and will be moving out and warning others of this place. They spend money making the grounds look nice, but the apartments are full of criminals. The only security (besides the gate that is always broken, likely by the criminals who need access), is a rent a cop who makes a few rounds every night with a flashing light on his golf cart, alerting criminals of his presence.
OMG! Be afraid. Be very afraid. I took this place because I relocated from another state and I was foolish to take the first thing I came across. You need to run away far away as you can. Why? Here goes in list form (in no particular order):1) The management are petty crooks. Money money money is all they care about. If you think they are for your well-being and safety, you have another think coming. You will be nickel and dimed to death on services that come standard with every other lease. 2) If you are looking for peace and quiet, then forget it. They mow the laws practically every day from sun up to sun down. Along with leaf blowing. Sun up to sun down. Not to mention gun shots throughout the night. Plus the car alarms that blare all night, just about every night. I pity anyone who works night and has to sleep days. I get constant notices stuck to my door about the crime in the neighborhood.3) I was there 9 months and not one single person came to inspect for bugs. Mind you, I was charged a fee every month for "Pest Control." They claim you must call them first. And it takes a week for them to come - after they act like you are bothering them.4) Prepare for every other tenant’s dog in to use your yard as the toilet. I didn't own a dog but everyone who visited certainly thought I had one. 5) They will double dip you on TV Cable. They charge you $45 a month for the very basic cable ever. You want extended channels, be prepared to shell out extra to the Cable company. And the Cable company won't give you more channels unless you get cable from them as well.6) $300 PER PET deposit. Even if it's a frog. Don’t try to sneak one in. Loads of people here have told me about how the office will send Maintenance to spy on you when you first move in.7) The wiring is archaic. The tags on my power boxes outside date back to 1993.8) Maintenance are rude as rude can get, Something break down? Give them a call. They will come fix whatever is broken and make you feel like a dumba$$ in the meantime.9) My electric apartment sized washer & dryer hookup (that they provide for your "convenience") and my electric kitchen stove ran from the same circuit from the circuit board. I told maintenance and the office, and they didn't care at all. Not only is this a fire hazard, but be prepared to shell out hundreds of $$$$ in utility bills.10) No matter what they advertise, my move in amount was well over $2000. $1000 of that was damage deposit. And believe me when I tell you, come move out time, they will do everything the law allows to keep their pockets lined with it. Crooks.Just do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
TROJAN HORSE OF THE ISLAND!!! Hope you like roaches, rats, and rudeness. There have been numerous breakins that the management claims to know nothing about. I've had my apartment broken into and they refused to work with the police to help out. The place looks nice.... but looks can be deceiving, can't they? I'd also like to add that it is interesting to me that the same problems this place had years ago on old reviews I've seen STILL EXIST. People were complaining about rats, roaches, and rudeness in '09 and those complaints still ring true today.
