So, fawnarie. You're mad because WellWorX is enforcing the contract that you signed? I don't understand how could you possibly get mad at them because of it?

Wellworx is like joining a fam...

Wellworx is like joining a family. The staff is incredible. They remember you and are always helpful. The members are the same way. A wonderful experience. Great classes, pools and equipment.

Read this if you are considering WellWorx!

We paid for our memberships up front for a whole year. We ended up moving away 6 months into it (JOB TRANSFER) and had to forfeit all the $$$ we had paid upfront. THEY DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS! In fact their contract even states that they will not refund money even in the event that they cease to do business!

It gets worse... so after moving away I didn't really spend my days thinking about the contract I had signed a year earlier. Turns out they will automatically continue to charge me at a higher rate come the end of my contract (February 2012). So I send my certified letter to cancel in January after receiving a notice that they would begin charging me again in February. Then I get a call (from Wellworx) saying that I MUST PAY FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY in order to cancel my contract...... Its still January! OK, they didn't get 30 days notice... so what. Wave the fee.... put the membership on hold for 30 days until the cancellation can be processed.... Offer something. But no I am told "" IT WOULD BE BREAKING THE LAW TO WAVE THE CHARGES FOR FEBRUARY AND THEY CANT BREAK THE LAW!!! As if the police would show up and arrest somebody at Wellworx for not screwing me and my boyfriend out of another months dues.

Not all gyms are like this... I had a great experience with Bally's. After Bally's received our notice they refunded our dues for the two months since we had moved away. I didn't even expect a refund because we were on a month to month contract with them.

My advice- SIGN UP WITH A LARGER FRANCHISE GYM THAT IS NOT SO HARD UP FOR CASH. Larger gyms often put CUSTOMER SERVICE first rather then $$$.

Also, Notice the lack of reviews for Wellworx on yelp.... I'd be willing to bet they won't be in business for long. THE REASON I SIGNED UP WITH THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS BECAUSE THEY ARE NEVER BUSY... I NEVER HAD TO WAIT TO USE THE EQUIPMENT. NOW I KNOW WHY!

I Think WellWorx is Fantastic!

I am not sure what happened with the guy named James below, but safety has always been a top priority for all the years that I have been working out at Wellworx. They have safe, well maintained equipment and certified training staff that is always willing to teach you how to properly use it. Classes, swimming pools, and tennis courts are great. If you sigh up for personal training, which is very reasonably prices, you will definitely not be disappointed. They have helped me so much with my weight loss goals and have truly been life changing. I feel like the entire staff - from management, to trainers, to desk staff - are a part of my extended family. They are always there with warm smiles and kind, encouraging words and are always ready to help. Anyone who says otherwise is obviously trying to slander this great gym.

Love WellWorx

I love Wellworx. I am not one to base my opinion on online reviews so I tried out several gyms in the area, and I found that Wellworx had the friendliest staff, most activities, and best of all, no waiting for machines! They not only have a nursery for kids, but also activities that get them working out, too! My daughter loves their biweekly track time where they walk laps and their children's zumba! I would recommend WellWorx to anyone!

Wellworx is a good club

This club is kept up and they ahve plenty of workout equipment. We never have trouble getting any workouts in. An oasis for downtown. I don't mind parking and walking because I am going there to work out!

I didn't really want to write this, cause i don't want people to start flocking there. but I hate that people from years ago hate on it so much. Things seem to have changed and I haven't had any issues.

Wellworx- quiet and many open machines all time.

I have had nothing but a great experience at the downtown Wellworx. There are friendly and helpful people working at the desk and always greet you well. As for the facility, there is never anyone there except maybe 3-10 people, 10 is more than I have ever seen there. There are also classes you can sign up for, and also you get to use the eastside facility if you choose. The trainers have been very helpful and engaging.

My only problem so far is that the parking is at a lot on Front street (2 blocks away) which is not a big deal.

WellWorx Sucks!!! No safety at all

I would say join this club only when you are not concerned about your safety. Just No Safety at all. No maintenance of fitness equipment. God forbid if somebody gets injured because their useless equipment they don't even take the basic responsibility. Even their customer service is not good. Overall this club sucks.
