not a good place and methodist south is the worse..My mother has been mistreated at methodist south and she found out that she has some serious health conditions going on and we didn't find out until later on in her illnesses....These people need to be reported and put on a registry...
My mother was treated like the queen she is. Thanks to the Thorasic surgery team and to the tech who scrubbed the case. I was a little nervous because i was doing my clinicals there while she was in surgery. The tower wing 5th floor thanks alot. She love u guys. Thank you Methodist University. :)
My mother had an surgery done there by an vascular surgery and they broke the chain of command to prevent infection and she almost lost her freakin leg. My mother had a very deep open wound from her groin almost down to her knee caps after they debried her infected surgery site trying to save her leg. I had to do intense wound care on my mother wound for several months thanks to God that he allowed me to become an rn. Then on top of this the surgery was a faliure and he ruin my mom's dialysis access arm which she had finally gotten from allowing an another md to build her vein up to create her own fistula and that took several months to do. So she had to hav a vas cath hanging out her neck to get her dialysis for months, then on top of all this methodist messed up something wit her billing and she has been left with this 46, 000 bill from the time she was in their hospital when the doctors were trying to fix what they messed up. This place needs new management and needs to actually attempt to live up to its values and creeds that they claim to have just having it in writing isn't good enough
They almost let me die too. The told me I was looking for drugs, they would give me a shot and send me home. I'd be back in an ambulance when the shot wore off. this went on for months. Finally a resident saw me and did emergency surgery. Saved my life! I had osteomylitis had to remove part of spine. Never should have gotten that far. paralysed for yr and half. now I walk but with pain. They dropped my on the way to surgery off gurney. Then dropped my 6 months later in xray. Did a lot to cover that up so I could not sue. They need to be investigated. I can't get any record of surgery so new doctors think I made this all up. I hate them
I just called the 7th floor of Methodist downtown. This hospital is considered to be one of the best in the WORLD. I asked the operator what time I can talk to my Aunt and she said 6.30 am. She contacted me to my AUNTS, and the person told me 7am. I said which one and who are you. I ask for someone in Management, she hung uo on me, OH GOD! What is this world comig to when people abuse position, and control and authority. I called back, nice person, confirmed the time ws 6.30 am that I can talk to her. god is good all the time!
I was admitted to Methodist University Hospital for surgery this month and have to be honest, that after reading the previous reviews, I was very nervous. My experience couldn't have been more opposite than their review. I have no medical insurance and this is why I was instructed to go to their Medcial Center and hospital. I can tell you with great certainty that I was treated like I had the best insurance there was to have from the cleaning people to the doctors and nurses. Everyone treated me with great kindness and professionalism. I will say if and when I have medical insurance and hospitalization is required I will request to go back to this facility. If you can say a major surgery was a great experience mine was and I will recommend this hospital to any and everyone. My sincere thanks to each and every one of my caregivers for the excellent care I recieved.
This place needs to be investigated and shut down. The staff, for the most part, is horrible, arrogant and dismissive in the face of the needs of patients. They almost let me die, and then yelled at my family and friends for getting them in trouble. If something is to be done before they harm more lives, they need to be reported to: http://www.ftc.gov/ and also to: http://tn.gov/consumer/complaint.shtml and also to: http://health.state.tn.us/boards/Me/complaints.htm My friends are the ones who saw that I was abused, so I would not need to tell them about the abuse. They will not be going to Methodist University Hospital - because they saw for themselves. However, other authorities need to know, for the health and safety of human lives.
