Gallery Fifty Six surprized us. The outside gave us not clue what was inside. Once inside, we felt like we were in New York! Seriously. Except the prices were "fly over America", not NYC or LA prices. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't starving artist prices, but we felt they were good value. The had an art exhibition in place that was a local artist. Really exceptional work. They also were showing work by other house artists. As far as independent art galleries go, it was rather large, had to be around 3,000 sq. ft. with five or six gallery rooms. We bought one of the smaller pieces at the exhibit, they're going to ship it to us after the show. Not stuffy, but really a class act. They've got a good website for their art--looks like they do a good job of keeping it up-to-date.
I was out gallery hopping about 2 years ago and found this unique little hideaway. I loved it and bought several items (local artist work)....since it was such a busy day I had forgotten how to get there again until I found it here on city review...can't wait to go back...I know they will have that special one of a kind item that will call my name.
I was there about a yr ago and had a fairy tattooed on my back and I was speechless with the end result. I have never been so satisfied with a tattoo. The tattoo was very detailed, beautiful colors and more than I expected. The staff is mazing, very friendly and they make you feel at home.
If you are looking for something that is different and of quality, this is the place to come. Plus it's a beautiful art gallery, with a wonderful dog to great you. They have moulding choices that I've not seen anywhere else in town, plus great ideas.
Had a 10+ hour piece done here. Very professional and these guys/gals are artists. Very happy I went to Underground Art. David Evans hooked me up with a unique, kick ash piece of art that I will cherish forever.
