I have been to this place entirely too many times to count, and I absolutely LOVED it. However, tonight was the most despicable experience that I have ever had at a restaurant, and utter disgrace. We were seated, and the owner/manager which I did not know this at the time, took our orders. She wasn’t rude, but she was definitely impolite and less than inviting. We had to wait over an hour which wouldn’t have been a big deal, but we had already received a less than welcoming greeting. When the chef came out, he skipped over us and went to a table of African American women. I only say this to say that just because their are other African Americans in the restaurant doesn’t mean that we weren’t discriminated on or victims of racial profiling as African American men. We then proceeded to ask the staff to speak to a manager, three different employees. The last employee even told us that she was busy. Finally, she came to the table. She was nonchalant, defensive, and combative. She made it completely clear that she could care less about us as customers. This was by far worst experience that I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. I’m so disappointed, disturbed, and quite frankly sad that this type of behavior comes from someone that owns A-Tan.
We always enjoy our food and the service at Coltons. It's a great steak house that isn't over priced and is family friendly.
Small and personable restaurant with great service!! Food and adult beverages are awesome!!!
BEWARE!!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS!!! The driver charged my dads card and also had him write him a check. When I saw what had happened I contacted them only to be told that the driver is an independent contractor and does not work for them so they are not responsible for anything he did. And did I mention that they told me he was a CONVICTED FELON but they are not responsible for anything he did??? My dads card was also charged twice while he was in the hospital but they say they are not responsible for the charges. The vice president of the company for Memphis (John Cooley) who I am being told has the final say about what they reimburse was very difficult to deal with. All he kept saying is he would give me the information on the driver and I could file charges with the police but again they are not responsible for anything he did. Out of the 3 charges for $199 they say they are going to reimburse 1 of them. We will see but I seriously doubt it.
Closed years ago and left Memphis Tennessee also. Loved this place and I had to go to Huntsville Alabama to eat there.
We ate at a Colton's several years ago and thought it was very expensive, considering. A friend wanted to take us out for steak and took us once again. The prices weren't too bad, considering we all ordered steak (about $74 for 4). The service was great, we ate at 4pm with only one other customer (a couple) in sight. The food was pretty good although a couple of the steaks weren't cooked as ordered, they were still VERY tender and delicious! The green beans were steamed and delicious while the mixed vegetables were mostly broccoli with just two pieces of carrot and two zucchini although delicious too.
Have been to both The Beale Street Music Festival and World Championship BBQ Cooking Contest...both are great events...both showcase the city of Memphis and put Memphis in the National spotlight...and with both events at Tom Lee Park, beautiful sunsets each evening.....It was good at this past WCBBQ festival that you could buy some of the BBQ from those cooking at the festival....it's always good to know someone from one of the BBQ tents to really experience what it is all
I had the best Tilapia and spinach dip at OutBack Steak House in MidTown on Union Ave.....DELICIOUS. The service was great as well
