I took my lawnmower, which was used a total of 4 times, to Colonial Hardware as an authorized repair shop. They told me that my almost brand mew lawnmower could not be repaired, the engine was gone, and I needed to buy a new one. They then blamed the problem on user error, so that the warranty would not cover it. I took the mower elsewhere, where it was promptly repaired for the grand total of $25. Do NOT take your machines here to be repaired!
A great little hardware store and there is always a smiling face to help you find just what you are looking for. :-)
Great business. They have it all!
I order a product from this store every other year and have done so for a decade. No, this is not Home Depot or Lowes but it is a friendly and helpful place. I keep coming back.
Today, 7/14/2014, I entered the store and asked the cashier if they were open to the general public, since their sign read, "Commercial Hardware." She blinked real hard, stared me down, and asked me what I had said. When I repeated, she snapped at me, barely answering my question. Before I could walk away, she and two male customers proceeded to talk about me, laugh, and poke fun like small children. I walked around the store looking for a manager, but found none; so, I waited for her to finish with other customers and a phone call. Eventually, I found another employee and asked for the owners , but he stated that they were not there. As he and I approached the front counter near where she was standing, he asked me what had happened. I explained to him what had transpired and stated that it was very unprofessional how she had treated me. I did not know if they serviced the general public because we have not lived here very long and because their signage was confusing. As I walked out of the store, she must have gotten off the phone because she charged behind me cursing and staring into my vehicle. Although she never approached my truck, she was behaving very aggressively. We spend thousands annually because of the properties we have in two states, but we will never spend a dime in this so-called business.
ive been there several times and only one time received good service. unfortunately the man that helped me isnt there very often. If you know what you need and where to find it your ok but if you go to the desk for help, look for the older gentleman.
Although the business is good about finding lawnmower parts, their small engines people are idiots. I took 5 chains to them for my chainsaw to be sharpened. They called me to pick them up I took them back home and in several weeks soon discovered they were not the ones I dropped off these were too long. They gave me someone elses chainsaw blades. No organization. I took my Troybilt tractor to them to have them replace my regulator. When I got it back I soon discovered although the battery problem had been solved somehow they did something to it to cause an oil leak. I am not stupid enough to take anything back to them to screw up again. I'm going somewhere else. the only reason I am giving them a one star is because that is as low as I can go.
