Overall

It used to be a wonderful friendly place where someone would always answer questions or help you find something. However my most recent visit was very disheartening.

My husband rented a rug cleaner. When he brought it home, it had gritty dirty in it and smelled a little moldy. No problem. I cleaned it out and used it anyway. Before I returned it I emptied it and wiped out the top. There was some grit left, but didn't think anything of it as it was not clean when we rented it. Here's the disturbing part.

I waited for five minutes while the lady who check it in was on a personal conversation talking of things such as "how is Maya" and "things like that happen". Again, I had time and really was fine with it. Then, she got off the phone and I was verbally accosted and humiliated in front of four other customers in the store.

When she looked at it, she shouted at me saying it was dirty and I wouldn't get any money back. I tried to explain it was dirty when I rented it and she shouted at me as she was stomping angrily away from me. Then, Jason from the behind the counter stops helping the customer he was helping to ask me "why I wouldn't bring it back if it was dirty". Well....... Maybe I didn't want to waste an hour of my day bringing it back when I could just clean it out myself. At that point, everyone in the store was staring. I was so humiliated.

I've worked with customers my whole life and can not fathom being that rude and still having a job.

I would never recommend Spotts or go back there again. The employees complete overreact to non issues and are abusive to their customers.

It's really sad to see a local business which prides itself on customer service hire such toxic people. On a positive note, we will save money on our Christmas lights this year by not shopping at Spotts.
