Overall

I have gone there for several years and the receptionist is rude and very mixed up with the appointment times and the insurances.EVERY TIME I have gone, there has been a mistake with the insurance or sliding scale and the appointment times are changed.Very poorly run and a very inept,rude and no empathy from the receptionist.STAY AWAY!!

Overall

I have had the misfortune of having to deal with "The Meadville Dental Center" twice and I guarantee you there will not be a third time. The receptionist there is one of the rudest people I have had to deal with in a while. Both times I have been to this dentist she has been rude to me. I had an horrible toothache for several days, and I was referred by the Meadville Free Health Clinic. When I arrived the receptionist informed me that they could not see me, because I has already had a referral from the free clinic 2 years ago, which I had totally forgotten about. She was very rude to me about it, and when I asked if I could pay cash because I am self-employed and do not have dental insurance, she informed they could not help me without seeing proof of income.. I said I was in intense pain and could pay cash. She insisted they could not even see me without proof of income, which makes no sense if I am paying cash and I have a dental emergency. She acted like she did not want to be bothered with me because I do not have dental insurance. Maybe I am crazy but I cannot imagine turning somebody away who is in pain and is willing to pay cash. This same receptionist was rude to me the first time I came by 2 years ago also. If this Dental Clinic does not want to deal with referrals from the free clinic they should just discontinue the program rather than treating customers badly. The funny thing about all this is me and my girlfriend and my mother and her mother just moved back here from Los Angeles a year ago and all four of us are looking for a new Dentist, and everybody else in my household has dental insurance. They had all expressed an interest in possibly making appointments with the Meadville Dental Center if I had a positive experience. So I would say that the receptionist being rude to me cost them 4 potential new clients. I used to work in customer service and I know everybody has a bad day, but there is no excuse for treating people badly who are in pain and come to you for help, regardless of whether or not they have insurance. You should not have to have insurance to be treated with civility. The sad thing is the one doctor I dealt with there was actually a pretty good Dentist.

Overall

Meadville is one of the best dental center in USA. I had gone there 3 months ago and had a great experience. Staff is also very nice and helpful. They treated with me as a family member. I use to go there.

This place was a Godsend. I was able to get in within a couple of days (they even offered me that very same day) and they took my x-rays, viewed them, and pulled my tooth all in the same day. The staff was wonderful and the dentist was very friendly and made me laugh. She actually believed me when I said that I typically need twice the Novacaine that most people do because it just doesn't numb me and tested it before just assuming I was numb as has been my experience in the past. I highly recommend this place and will be using them regularly.

Do not go here. First it took my husband a month to get in. When i called and told them what was going on and how my husband really needed to be seen right away they told me that he would be taken care of when we went in for our first appointment. The day of our appointment the dentist came in, look at his mouth, and gave him a prescription. Told him he could not get his tooth pulled that day because she had to look at the x-rays first. It took us another month to get another appointment. A couple days before the appointment my husband called to conform the appointment and they had went and changed the time to earlier in the morning. My husband works 10 hour shifts and doesnt get off until 2am so when we scheduled the appointment the first time the time was for 2pm. They changed the time from 2pm to 9am without calling and asking us first or even calling us at all!!! Now my husband has to come home from work at 2:30am and try to go right to sleep, get up a few hours later, and then get teeth pulled! How un-professional! I would not recommend this place to anyone! I dont even think they deserve a star! Poor people skills and communication skills between the front desk secretary and dentist! Also very rude and dishonest people!!!
