This is the worse place to work for. They seriously don't care about the well being of the teachers. If you call out or have a family emergency they make you feel like crap a and will treat you like crap the next time you work. There is so much that goes on I fell sorry for the parents bee auras they don't know what type of place they are sending their children. I wouldn't recommend this place to work a and i feel sorry for the new people that have started working there.
I love this school, My son has been going there for over a year and loves all the teachers. They love to talk about the kids and what they did that day and keep parents updated. Mrs. Manju is pure greatness. She loves the kids with all her heart and is a great teacher for the kids. I have tried …
WORST DAYCARE! The teachers have no idea where the kids are, what they did and what happened to them during the day. They always seemed lost and annoyed when I asked them any questions. Always a different teacher at the time you drop or pick up the kid so there is no way that you will know what …
We visited the toddler and primary classrooms, and were absolutely impressed. It is a planned and self-paced environment with Montessori classroom materials to inspire and develop the joy of learning in kids. In addition, extra-curricular activities and an indoor gym to keep kids happy and active. The teachers are caring, and dedicated to preparing the children for elementary school.
I'm breastfeeding, so I'm at DLC every three hours, every day of the week. I’m able to observe my son’s teachers and I have seen the other classrooms, as well. I talk with my son’s teachers at length and they are very invested in the care of my son - it’s like co-parenting with them and they are truly amazing. Whenever we have a developmental issue, they are on my team, ready to help us work through the problem.Again, I’m there several times a day, so I see quite a bit more than the average parent. I truly love this daycare center and staff. The directors and staff care very much about the children enrolled at the daycare. The directors are very nice, attentive, and are seriously super sweet. Any issues I've had, they’ve addressed them immediately. It's all about communication, and a willingness to work through the problem.I hope this helps! If you have any questions about this daycare, I'd be happy to answer any questions about my experience. Thank you!-Heather Garcia
Concernedmom111 and Parent002: Since your child attended MAW, things have changed immensely. We have hired two Montessori certified Primary teachers with over three years' experience as lead Montessori teachers and over five years' experience in Montessori environments. Each teacher has a different personality to help fit each child's emotional intelligence. We have also hired two new Toddler teachers. One has three years' experience working in a Montessori school and the other is currently going to training and is wonderful with children and families. We are also under new management. Ms. Christina, the new Director, comes to us with her Montessori Certification, her degree in Early Childhood Development, her Bachelor's degree in Management/International Business and a Masters in Human Resources. She taught for five years in a Montessori School in California, was an Assistant Director for three years and the Director of a brand new Montessori School in Fountain Valley, California for eight years. Ms. Christina has a passion for children and a drive to create an environment that helps children create a love for learning that lasts them a lifetime! We urge and welcome you to visit our program to demonstrate that we are a wonderful school with a dedicated staff who enjoys working with children; we know that they flourish under our care!
I walked in to pick up my 2yo daughter from Discovery Learning Center in McKinney last Wed, Sep 20th, and witnessed a teacher named Princess yank her up by her upper arms and slam her down on her nap mat because she was up during nap time. She immediately started screaming and crying. I ran and snatched her up, ignoring the teacher repeatedly apologizing and trying to explain, and went to tell the director or assistant director. They said they would handle it. I went in the next day to get her belongings and the teacher was still working there. The assistant director wanted to talk to me, explaining that she talked to the teacher and what I saw was a misunderstanding, that it looked worse than what actually happened. I told her I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES. She apologized. I was told that if I would bring my daughter back, they would fire the teacher. So if I don't, they're going to keep an abusive teacher?
CHILD ABUSERS! Please do not send your children to this daycare! My friends daughter, who is 2 years old, was awake during nap time when her mother came to pick her up, my friend witnessed one of the teachers grab her daughters arm and slam her back down on the nap-pad when the little girl sat up to greet her mother. The Director of the daycare told my friend that, "it was just a misunderstanding" and Princess is still employed with the company. This is inexcusable and child endangerment. Please, do not send your children here.

I was a worried mom of a 5 year old, adorable boy. Before joining Top of the world school, he attended Kiddie Academy of Mckinney and after about a month he developed very bad behaviors like hitting that he had never exhibited before. We got him out of there since we saw the distressed teacher (30+ yrs experience) and director. Instead we found Top of The World. And Thank God we did. I cant tell you how blessed we feel !! At first, my son was showing the same bad behaviors as the previous preschool. Prior to enrolling we showed our concern about his bad behavior, Mr. O assured us that our son will be in good experienced hands. 1) if your child has behavioral issues- the owner Mr. O and the Director Ms. Stephanie--handle it so well- they respect the parent and not once did they judge us for our son's acting out 2) TOTW do' what they say and they 'mean' what they say. we didn't know what triggered my son's acting out but at TOTW i had several-almost everyday short meetings where we tried to figure what possibly triggered him to be upset & we would reach a workable approach- and the teacher was to apply that approach if he acted out again. Recently we got our son evaluated and was diagnosed with Asperger/ High Functioning Autism. It is because of this school that gave me peace of mind that he will be well taken care of. Ms. Stephanie and Mr. O are such amazing people- they love what they do- its clearly visible. Our son has improved so much with zero incident. One of the solutions that we reached at was to send him only 3x a week and pick him before nap because thats when he struggled the most. Now he stays home alternate days and we are enjoying our precious son. I can not emphasize enough on how amazing, nurturing and reliable school this is. Mr. O definitely has chosen amazing staff who share the same goal & love what they do. I will keep updating this review as I'm sure ill have so much more to say.
We moved our daughter, 2 years old, to MAW in November 2014. We moved her from a very reputable daycare in the area and it was just that, a daycare. Since moving our daughter to MAW, she has made great strides as Montessori Academy at Westridge. As a teacher within FISD, MAW's curriculum is spot on with cognitive abilities and also exposes the children to the Montessori teachings every step of the way. Ms. Christina and Ms. Ashton, the directors have done a phenomenal job turning around what seems to have been a "declining" school. I am all about reviews and reading them, but once you step foot in to the building, you will understand why you will want your child to attend this school. We could not be happier than we are at MAW and I wish I had checked it out sooner.
Our son loves going to "school". He has learned a lot and I am impressed with what he can do. The staff is great, all the teachers acknowledge my son when they walk by him. They offer extra activities and have a lot of events. They also offer Parent Night Out once a month. When we first moved here we took my son to Kids R Kids down the road and that did not go well at all. I am glad we found the Montessori Academy at Westridge!
