I purchased a vehicle at Economy Auto Outlet in July. When I inquired about the title, I was told it would be mailed to me. A month later, it arrived at my house, with the wrong middle initial. I called Economy Auto Outlet to inquire about rectifying the name on the title. They told me “there is nothing we can do. Call the title office.” I called the title office and explained the situation. The title office told me it was Economy Auto Outlet’s responsibility to apply for the corrected title. I called Economy Auto Outlet back and left voicemails with the salesman Heath and manager Steve. Neither returned my call. Poor customer service there.
I went into the dealership today to purchase a 2006 Jeep Commander. I took it on a test drive, everything was great! It drove very nice, had a great ride, no major issues and it was a great price. I came back to the lot and looked it over once more. I guess my presence and the half hour test drive I took wasn't enough to show that I was actually interested in the vehicle. A short chubby guy (Jacob) came out and asked for the keys, "someone else is here to drive it."
What? Red flag. Seriously? In all my years of buying vehicles, not to mention the year I spent SELLING cars at a dealership, that was always a big no-no. Never show a vehicle someone else is showing. I had not even been asked if I wanted to buy it, if I liked it, nothing. Just asked for the keys back.
I went inside to talk to "Steve" and told him I didn't appreciate being treated that way. He just said "Oh, well do you want it? Let's make it happen."
What were you going to do, sell it while the other people drove it? Red flag number two. So I go to sit at Steve's desk and "Jacob" pipes up, "The vehicles on this lot are for sale until sold. Sorry if that offends you."
So, I left. I was done trying at that point. I called the dealership and asked for my original salesman who wasn't there, his name was "Rich". Rich promised me a manager would call. Well, it never happened.
By far the worst, absolute WORST experience I've ever had TRYING to buy a vehicle. That was some shady, rude, and unprofessional business. Here is a tip; if someone is looking at a car, DON'T TRY AND SELL IT FROM UNDER THEM.
Would I recommend this shady lot where Progressive Dodge sends their unwanted trade ins? Nope. Not at all.
