I've been shopping at this particular Fred Meyers for over 10 years. Just recently and I would say within the last six months, two- male staff who monitor the back and east door exit tend to be rude and insensitive towards people of color. Specially, African Americans. I've intentionally watched how they interacted with people coming and going from the store. They never give eye contact or speak when African Americans come or go from your store. They even check their receipts when they actually witness them coming through the cashier station in front of them. This is so disappointing. I've noticed that they never ask others...I've only noticed this with the two men (I think in their thirties) who watch that particular door entry way. The other staff at your store show professionalism and are friendly. My wife and I do not want to continue spending our dollars if this noticeable behavior does not stop. I would recommend they and probably others... receive cultural awareness training. After all, customer service should always precede this sort of behavior. This does not make be feel welcome since I am an African American customer. Please help!!!
I've shopped here since they have opened and have had great service from them. I was loading my car by myself one time and an employee that gathers carts came right over and helped me! I didn't even ask for help!!
We have been to Costco's all over the West Coast. These folks knock themselves out to meet your needs. Especially impressed with those in the different departments.
