Very good service!

Just a comment about Steve's Appliance Repair: I recommended Steve to a family member that was have a appliance problem. He showed up when he said he was going to be there, checked the problem out and repaired it. His cost was very fair and the main thing the appliance was fixed properly. (He DID NOT leave a mess behind for someone else to clean-up!). I highly recommend that you give him a chance when you need something done.

rip off

when i called for a service call i talked to the receptionist and she informed me that when steve would come to my house it would cost $50 and if i wanted him to do repair the 50 would come right off the cost of parts and then i would pay for labor when steve got here he looked at my dryer i had it taken apart and told him i thought it was the heating element and he had one the part costed 49.99 plus taxes and he told me the labor cost was 20 and the total bill was going to be $130 and i told him i didnt have that much he said if i put it back together he ould just sell me the part and i said ok and gave him 50 and he got in a hurry and grabbed the box with the part and went to his car and i went outside to catch him and i informed him what the receptionist said and he said the money was for showing up at my house and the part was extra. but the funny thing is he did nothing to the dryer and took $50 and basically ran out the door. i feel that he was misleading and dishonost and that was very un professional i called his office right after he left to complain and i was told by receptionist that my bill should have been $180 and he took 50 off and none of that was explained to me so be careful whoever call for service make sure you get a full and complete detail of all costs before he ever shows up and tells you that you owe him 50 for showing up at your house.

I am very sorry for the misunderstanding. I am also sorry that we did not convey ourselves very well. We take pride in our customer service, and strive to be sure everyone is satisfied with their service. We feel our fees are in compliance with the industry standards. Please allow me take a moment and try to explain this better than I did before. It would cost you a minimum of $50 and if you wanted the repair, the $50 would be taken off the final labor bill. We have to charge the suggested retail price of the parts. There is not much wiggle room in that area; as we are not set up to retail parts. I am very sorry that we failed to communicate this in a more understanding way to you. I do appreciate your feedback, and because of this situation, we have changed our fee structure. There is no longer a break on the diagnostic fee. We were charging a $50 service call, and then taking that off the final labor cost. As this seemed to be confusing, we have restructured our fee schedule. The cost of a service call is $70 plus parts. $70 is the minimum anyone will pay if we come to your home. The industry standard fee schedule is as follows: the customer is charged an $80 -$100 service call, $70 per hour (min 1 hour) and then the price of parts. If you choose not to fix the item, you are charged the service call and the minim 1 hr. At Steve’s Appliance Repair, we felt that this was a little too much, and we wanted to give our customers a break while still staying in compliance with the industry standards. Please understand there is a cost involved in a service call, no matter which company you decide to utilize, whether the customer decides to just use the technician’s knowledge and fix it themselves or elect to have the repair completed. Again, please accept my sincere apology. I thank you for your feedback, and I do wish we could have remedied the situation for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us again.
