Mike's Water Service LLC

The water from my well pump had stopped. The circuit breaker was not tripped off. The pressure gauge still showed there was pressure in the tank. There was nothing obviously wrong with the pressure switch. But, there was a slight periodic buzzing noise coming from the control box. I called the company who originally installed it 19 years ago. They no longer do residential water but they referred me to Mike's Water Service. I called Mike and explained the "symptoms" and the things I tried. Mike was super knowledgably, at least certainly for my specific situation. While on the phone he had me open the control box and inspect the capacitor and relay for leaking fluids, burnt wires, etc. He then had me uncover the pressure switch to see if the contacts were open or closed. In a few minutes we deduced it most likely, but not guaranteed, was something wrong in the control box. We reviewed the size and capacity of the box (hp, volts, amps, etc) and he suggested I go to the local ‘box store’ and buy a new panel. They are universally designed so all I should need to do was remove the older cover plate (which contained the electric components) and put the new plate on the old box. If that didn’t fix the situation than the issue may be with the pump itself or possibly the wiring. After a quick trip to the store and switching out the control box, the water started flowing again! A huge thanks to Mike for saving me a ton of time (no other plumber was available for another 2 to 3 days) and a lot of money (fixed it myself instead of paying for a service call). I offered to pay Mike for his consultation time and expertise but he politely declined. In attempt to compensate him in some small way, I’m posting this review and sending a general shout-out for him and his company. I would absolutely, definitely recommend giving him a call if you have water supply or general plumbing issues.

I highly recommend Mike's Water Service from Marshallville. He was professional, thorough, and friendly. As is my usual MO when paying for home repair services, I followed him around all day, asking questions and watching the process. By the end of the day (it took about 7 1/2 hours), I felt like I had made a new friend. So, yes. I probably annoyed the hell out of him, but he took it in stride.
