The Aroostook Medical Center, located in Presque Isle, Maine, is a nonprofit organization that provides health care services. It is a member of the Eastern Maine Healthcare System. It employs more than 1,000 personnel and its medical team consists of over 50 physicians. The center operates various hospitals and health care organizations, such as the A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle, Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill, N.C., and Community General Hospital in Fort Fairfield, Maine. Its Aroostook Health Center is a more than 70-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility. The center provides physical, occupational and speech therapies, and mental health services through psychiatric evaluations and intensive care units. Additionally, it provides treatment for patients suffering from cancer and offers cardiopulmonary diagnostic services. It also offers various imaging services, such as CT scan, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography and bone densitometry. It is approved by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
