I have owned boats for most of my life and have been using the boat shop for about 35 years you will not find any shop that has more knowledge and craftsmanship than them as they will explain the reason something might break or why it should be replaced or the proper way to winterize a boat thanks boat shop keep up the great work

We took our boat up about a year ago because of a vibration and noise. We were given quote of $250 to diagnose the problem. We did not hear anything for a couple of weeks so I called and was told they had the wrong number wrote down for us and they hadn't had time to look at it yet. I gave them my husband's cell phone number and a few days later he called him. He said it would be $450 for what he had done, and an additional $1,000 to level the motor. My husband asked why it was $200 more than what we were told and he said because the issue wasn't what he thought it would be, so he had to tear into the lower unit. He did not call and tell us that he had to spend more time to diagnose the issue, and that there would be an additional charge. All that was required to fix the problem was a few washers to raise the back of the motor so it would be level. Now my parents are in the same situation where he has had their boat for three weeks to adjust a cable to engage the boat. They specifically told them to call before doing anything else that would change the quoted amount. An employee of the shop called to say there were teeth broken off of a flywheel and quoted them $500 to fix it and adjust the cable. They finally called and said it could be picked and they charged them $1,350! When asked why it was almost three time what they were quoted, they said they put on a new starter, (the one already on it was only a year old) changed the oil, flushed the engine, etc. None of that was authorized. Now they refuse to let them have their boat and have threatened to drain the oil and remove parts. So after trying to come to an agreement, they are turning it all over to their attorney. This isn't the first time, but will hopefully be their last overcharging people for unauthorized work/parts. I hope their attorney is as good as my parents.
