THEY PUT A HOLE IN MY EYE DURING A ROUTINE EXAM!!! On my very first visit to get my eyes checked for glaucoma I was told I needed to go through all of the initial eye exams. Fine. I did this with a tech who had a horrible bedside manner and obviously didn’t care at all about me. During this initial exam I was given a cornea test where they basically hold a pointed device up to your eye to test the integrity of your cornea. She then RIPPED a hole in my cornea! I was numb so I felt nothing at first but I could tell right away that my vision had been severely compromised. I couldn’t see anything out of my left eye. I mentioned this to her and she said it was fine. It was only when I asked her a second time that she sighed and bothered to take a look. Within a few seconds of looking through the microscope she got up and said ‘Let me get the doctor’, which is never a good sign.Dr. Sagar was the one who came in to see me and though she was very nice she certainly said that this never happens and kept asking if something was wrong with the eye to begin with; insinuating that this was my fault. I have never had this problem before. Once the numbing solution wore off I was in more pain than I can possibly describe to you. Having a cut on your eye means each movement, eye open or closed, is agony. The next tech that came in put a contact on (which I didn’t want because I’m afraid of things going in my eye) but he was incredibly kind and calming. The main person there that I felt actually cared about me.By March, allergy season, I’d rubbed my eye because it was itchy a lot one day and then I sneezed causing my eyes to clench which opened up my abrasion again. I called their emergency line and NEVER received a call back. Lens Crafters took care of their mess. The doctor there said the reason it opened back up again was because it never healed properly.I would urge you with every care that I have for your eye sight to never visit this office.
This practice had the rudest staff I have ever encountered at a physician's office - especially for a pediatric office. The nurse that called us to the back must have been angry at somebody because she took it out on us! And the doctor (Greenburg) wasn't any better. These people maybe should reconsider being a place for children because their attitudes were NOT child-friendly. The nurse was rough in administering eye drops for our children (2 year-old twins). And she was very rude when asking my daughter-in-law questions about the children. We will never go back. I didn't want to even give them 1 star, but had to in order to post my review.
I have been a client of Marietta Eye Clinic since moving to this area in 2010. Their convenient location made the long exam times an even trade off for me. That is no longer the case. The lenses in my glasses broke. When I contacted Marietta Eye Clinic for replacing them I was informed it would take almost a week to get them replaced. I couldn’t wait that long so I went to Lens Crafters (one hour service). I requested Marietta Eye Clinic fax a copy of my prescription to Lens Crafters. They took their time faxing it (almost an hour with 2 phone calls to prod them over that period) and then they made a note on the prescription that “RX Expired”. My prescription was only 1 year old (12/30/11 exam date). I was at Lens Crafters on 1/3/13. It seems that Marietta Eye Clinic has an internal policy that prescriptions are only valid for 1 year despite GA state law says that the prescription is good for 2 years. They would not extend the prescription for the couple of days it had expired unless I ordered the lens through them (yes – they said that). Lens Crafter could not fill the prescription without Marietta Eye Clinics approval. I asked Marietta Eye Clinic if it was worth losing my business over a couple days extension of the prescription – the answer is yes, they would not extend it. I have excellent eye health, my prescription hasn’t changed in a very long time so there are no health concerns, like diabetes or family history, to make it necessary for me to have an exam every year.Shoddy business practices and indifferent attitudes make this business not worth going to.
