The Mahone Group in Marietta is the most oppressive and depressive places I have worked in all of my years of working. When you interview with them, they seem so warm and inviting, but it is a hoax. The employers are a husband and wife team who get some type of sick enjoyment out of belittling their employees and threatening their jobs nearly everyday. They take turns verbally abusing employees and sometimes they will do it collectively. If you make it through a day without being yelled at it's a good day, but trust me those days are few and far in between.
While working there, you will be expected to be early, stay late, skip lunch, not miss days or take vacations and not talk to or be friendly with other employees. They will also try to cheat you out of the benefits they promise when you are hired. Don't expect any commissions or bonuses either.
If you are interviewing for one of their client's, they may be fake nice to you if they think you can bring them money. If they don't like you, they will be rude, judgmental and dismissive.
Rob and Susan are poor excuses for business owners and it's a wonder that they have been in business so long without being sued multiple times because it's such a hostile work environment. They are condescending, insensitive and pure evil. If you decide to work at this company, you may last a few weeks.
If you are a recruiter, run from this company. You will never receive commissions or bonuses. You will be released before you receive anything. Extremely hostile work atmosphere. No training given. Micro-managing husband and wife team who snipe and slander each other's in-house hires. You will not be allowed to meet or speak with client hiring managers, ever. Control of All candidates brought in will be taken over by management and this will be the excuse they use to keep you from your commissions and bonuses. There is no work life balance. You WILL be expected to happily work 11+ hour weekdays and on weekends. If you have a sick child that needs care, you will be punished for not being there to work. Do not listen to all of the sickeningly sweet promises they will offer you! Fair warning.
I recently received a job offer and will be starting on this Monday. After the very first call and phone interview I had with Susan Young, she seemed focused on "me" and took to finding me a job seriously. She was in constant contact with me and a client she thought I was a good candidate for. I never had to wonder what was happening because she kept me informed. I was able to get a phone interview and then a face to face interview with the client within days. After that she took to getting my references checked. On this, I also felt like she went above and beyond her job. She is the only recruiter that I have had that seemed to work as hard for someone she didn't know (me) as you would expect of a friend or family member. She took a situation that was upsetting (losing my job) and turned it into one of the best experiences I've ever had. I have met several staff members and they were all very pleasant, professional and helpful. It restores faith that there are still some great people out there. I cannot thank her and The Mahone Group enough. I am so happy that I applied here and you will be too!
I just wanted to take the time to thank Susan and the Mahone Group for helping me take my nursing skills and experience to a clinic environment. You were very welcoming and confident in my ability to secure the job offer and I appreciate you and your staff's professionalism. I knew my nursing skills and more than 12 years of experience were solid but I didn't have physician office experience. I was totally confident and relaxed during my shadowing interview. My deepest thanks for everything you did for me. Everyone at Mahone was so helpful every step of the way. I'm really glad I didn't give up and that you contacted me. Thank you!
The Mahone Group in Marietta, GA is not a good company to work for. If you work in their office, you will witness and be a victim of extreme verbal abuse. The owners, Rob and Susan Young, are some of the most terrible, non-Christian, human beings I have ever encountered.
If you interview with them for a position for one of their clients, you may or may not fall prey to their abuse. If they like you, they will butter you up with their fake kindness. If they do not like you, they will roll their eyes during their interview with you, they will judge you on MANY different levels (from your resume to how you are dressed to the way you wear your hair to what size you are.)
It is my suggestion to stay as far away from this company as possible. I know in this tough economy it's nice when someone calls you for an interview, but I would NOT meet with them.
Thank you Rob! I recognize genuine concern for my professional life, and I knew my resume was a tacked on and multi-edit mess. It needed serious help, and the input you gave is invaluable! You didn't have to help me. That is a service no other recruiter/placement company has ever provided. The effort and work has paid off, getting me an interview and now a great job opportunity. Mahone is unlike any company that has engaged me in the past. It is evident you personally go the extra miles to ensure your clients' satisfaction with quality employees. Thanks again for seeing through all the words to the real worker here.
Hi Rob! I just want to reach out and say thank you with the deepest appreciation. Your guidance and influence has helped me tremendously. Firstly, introducing me to staffing and recruiting gave me the ability to provide for my daughter during her very important years (middle school and high school). My daughter Shelly is now a college student. Secondly, your support and taking me to the next level was instrumental to my career. After getting settled in TX I was offered a Recruiter position and I’m doing extremely well. When I look at others around me I can’t believe how much I learned at Mahone. I owe a lot of my success and my future opportunities to you. I am truly grateful and think of you guys often. Thanks for seeing the potential in me and helping me get there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and family.
