I was there a couple of years ago,and there was this black guy there. He wore a big gun(must have been security) and he was quite intimidating, but he turned out to be so sweet and nice( think he was british or jamaican). He had been in special forces or something but he was the ""real deal"" and he helped us so much and my kid just loved him.I can't remember his name, and I don't know if he's there anymore but he was really sweet and really cool(kinda cute and muscular)..Look for him!-Blonde customer.
I began shopping at this store more than 30 years ago. It has been my favorite military surplus store for years UNTIL I began trying to check items and price online. I must say that their web site absolutely sucks. It is the most frustrating, difficult to navigate, site I've ever tried to use. I'm thinking that the person who designed their website must have been some sadistic sort of person who was "getting even" for whatever.... On the other hand, if their objective was to use the website to FORCE you to visit the store in person, they have succeeded.

I wish I could rate with a star minus! I have no idea what is wrong with this store, when the city is one of your customers and you refer to city employees as ""you people"" maybe it's time you retire! This happened earlier today, 9 November 2011.
I will blast this experience on FB and other surrounding blogs, your actions were really uncalled for!
I have been shopping at Hodge Army & Navy Since I was in Elementary School and have been coming back ever since! They always have that weird nick knack that I am in search of and if they don't have my size they usually are able to get it in in about a week!. Great Store, go see for your self!!!

They sold me the wrong item and wouldn't swap it out on the same day I bought it !
I couldn't believe how rude they are and I'll never be back.
The Army Navy store up the road behind the Coke plant swapped out the glasses that came from these guys and didn't charge me anything extra.
