I'm a resident of over ten years at this apartment complex. Before BH Management I was happy. Once BH Management purchased the complex it went straight downhill. My apartment was robbed within two months after management let questionable characters move into the apartment next to me.



While trying to address another issue at my apartment not only did I not receive the help I sought but one of the staff members hung up the phone on me. I had to leave work early to go to the leasing office to address my issue.



Not long after that the closet in my master began to take on water every time it rained. It took four days after I entered the ticket for maintenance to look at the wet carpet and acknowledge the mold in the apartment. They pulled up the carpet, dropped in two obnoxiously loud fans and didn't come back until I went back to the office. After six months of them not fixing the issue the only thing I have to show for it is holes in the walls, holes that were cut out by maintenance while attempting to "investigate" the issue. The holes were never repaired. There is rot and mold along the moulding of the closet after six months of maintenance doing nothing to fix the water leak from the rain.



I tried to work with management to move to a different apartment but they were unwilling to move me, to the same floor plan without raising my rent. I even called "Resident Services" at the corporate office multiple times and no one ever answered the phone so I left a message... twice. No one returned my calls.



I advise everyone to be wary of this complex and BH Management.

This apartment complex will be...

This apartment complex will be good for some people, but is by far a horrible place for a person like me. I moved in 4 months ago and have experienced the most unprofessional, irresponsible and untrustworthy management I’ve ever come across in my many years of renting. To keep this review short I will simply list some of the major issues I have with Barrington Mill.

The first day of living in the apartment there was an odor from the last tenant which was stained in the cabinets, carpets and even walls. I thought airing it out for a few days and using carpet deodorizer would help and 4 months later we still have a slight smell, but slightly noticeable. The third day of living there the maintenance came into the apartment unannounced while I was at work. My girlfriend was sleeping and the maintenance man came right into the master bedroom and scared her tremendously. When I signed the lease they informed me they always call when they are planning on entering your house, needless to say there was no call or voicemail. He then decided to move my bed in order to replace the damaged window screens behind the headboard. When he tried to move my bed frame he ripped the footboard off the frame which my girlfriend heard happen from the other room. To keep the story short I came home to all this and spoke to the manager of maintenance and the property manager who both told me they were taking their worker’s word over mine, and he claimed the bed was already broken before he got there!! I let it go and got my insurance agent to get the money for a new bed frame, that’s what renter’s insurance is for. I didn’t appreciate being called a liar though.

Security and safety is a serious issue. They have a front gate which is easy to enter if you don’t have the correct gate key. On countless occasions I have seen cars follow other cars through the gate. There are also many access points around the property for any person to enter whenever they want, and there are groups of people that enter all the time and walk through the neighborhood. There is nothing from stopping people from exiting the complex as well, unless the power goes out, and then the gates don’t open and essentially locks you in or out of the complex. This has happened on several occasions.

I smell cigarettes and weed nearly every day while I walk from my car to my apartment at night. There are at least two apartments that are attached to mine that don’t mind sitting on their porches and lighting up.

Management will promise you mountains and deliver pebbles . It took them 4 month to fix 4 window screens in my apartment! My appliances are old, outdated and not working properly. Upon move in management said it’s easy to drop off your rent check in a drop box located in front of the leasing office. This was important because I work two jobs and go to professional school full time so I’m not around during their office hours to personally hand in a check. The first month’s rent I tried to hand in to the drop box I noticed they had screwed the box shut! This was their way of telling me the drop box was permanently closed. I called and asked management about it and they said they had an online pay option. I went online and it doesn’t work, not allowing me to register! It’s just one thing after another but it all adds up quickly.

The last thing worth mentioning is the notices I receive on my door from management. Just last week I received a notice informing us there have been multiple break-ins within the neighborhood. The police were notified but there was no news as to how they were addressing the issue. The letter ended with the name and number of a home security company to call which was strongly advised.

Please don’t make the mistake I did and please look in other locations!!
