As an educator at a local elementary school, I am very pleased with Due West Academy. I feel the teachers work very hard to follow the state core curriculum. The staff is helpful and friendly.

After being treated extremely horrible by the front staff, I did some investigating in this school by consulting with a previous front office staff member, and a current member of the staff to learn that they write their own reviews!!! This is not heresay, this is fact. They stated that every so often Katie (the current director) either goes on review sites herself, or asks them to log on and write fake reviews in favor of the school. What a shame. If you look at the reviews on this site and many others you'll learn that there are many similarities in the posts. This is a pathetic tactic on their behalf, this place is horrible! Trust me!
My husband and I spent weeks looking for the right school for our two girls. We came across Due West Academy via a friend and fell in love with the facility and staff. The teachers are extremely knowledgeable, energetic and loving. We feel certain that we made the right choice for our girls.
Due West Academy was one of the best choices we made for our child. Not only do we know our child is loved and learning something new every week the staff treats us like family. They are always very professional and happy. It is more than just somewhere to leave your child. We recommend them!
This school is a bit faulty. My nephew attended this school last year, when they only had a Georgia Pre-K program, when they were practically BEGGING parents to enroll their kids. Their classes were half full, and my sister was able to enroll her son mid-school year, no problems. This year my daughter is Pre-K eligible. She joined the "waiting list" for the Pre-K program for this year about a year ago. I dropped off her paperwork, and was promised that we had a spot this year. I called several times to ensure this, and was promised profusely that we had a spot. For the 2013 school year they started a paid pre-k program (where parents pay out of pocket). Miraculously, I was "bumped out" of the spot that I was promised for the Georgia Pre-K program, and told I can attend the "paid" program until a spot becomes available. That wouldn't be a problem, if it wasn't so suspicious. To add to that, my nephew owed the school a balance for lunches, which is his mother's responsibility, not mine. The woman actually mentioned "you can't say your family has been supportive of this school when your nephew owes a balance that was never paid". Unbelievably rude! My nephew has absolutely NOTHING to do with me in terms of payments. His mother is responsible for his payments, and the fact that she did not pay his balance has nothing to do with my ability to pay my daughter's bills. The treatment I received by this school, the utter disregard for respect and people's time has been unreal. My husband and I make over $130,000 a year, we can pay our bills! They were so eager to be judgmental, money-hungry, and hold another person's bill against us that they didn't realize they missed out on a wonderful child who has very successful and supportive parents. We would have been extremely supportive to this school. What a shame. Goddard School, here we come!
From the first day that I have taken my son here, he has grown and is getting smarter and smarter. I needed a place to take him a few days a week to give me a break. I see the teachers and staff take such great care with him and the other kids. He is learning so much and it is good to see that they continue to teach him. He is soooo happy whenever I pick him up and I can see that he had a great day. Thank you to the staff of DWA for being such caring people. We love you!!!!
I love this day care! My son has been attending for almost a year now and he is THRIVING !!! He is happy every day when I pick him up, he is learning skills and making friends. Yes, my then infant and now toddler son has a peer group at "school". You should gauge a center based on how your child is when you pick them up at the end of the day. They give him meds when necessary, I've never had a problem...but then again I have appropriate doctor's notes with dates, times and dosages specifically written out. They take the time when I drop him off to see how his night was. When I pick him up, they tell me how his day was and how he felt. Over the months he has been there they have taken the time to get to know him as a little person, not just another body in a center. I'm not sure who the other person is who did a review here , but this is SO NOT the experience I've had with them. I would 100% recommend that you enroll your child if this is in the area you are looking. The owner and her family are so very nice and compassionate. They treat my child with respect and kindness, both which are requirements for me. If I was not 200% comfortable with them, I would not leave my child. This is a wonderful, family owned and run day care, where your child can get personal attention and not just be another child filling a space.
