Florence Nursing Home

Facility utilizes "consultants" who place patients in higher RUGS categories than is warranted by their prior level of function and/or diagnosis. Patients are routinely kept on therapy services regardless of progress made or lack thereof. Therapists are not permitted to make their own clinical decisions regarding patient care and specifically discharge from therapy. The facility routinely keeps all Medicare therapy patients on caseload for 100 days thereby exhausting ALL of their Medicare part A coverage.

these people are just kids that care for your family. when people fall they fail to report it. if employees think a resident smells they will spray them with air freshener. another thing that bothers me is that the supervision doesn't even care. They're motto is as long as the job gets done. If a resident doesn't require diapers employees will use them anyways to avoid changing sheets, and the sad thing about that is some residents have sores so putting a diaper on them only causes them to get worse. What does it for me though is I just dont understand how a place like that stays open after state came it and gave them over a 100 tickets for poor safety and poor work performance. If you don't believe just ask to see the states' review. If you care for your family never send them there

I had joined Florence staff in Sept 2010 working as an cna . And just the first week there was great. They made me feel like I was part of their family. With the love and caring they give their res. is awesome.What they do there for their res.is great. Staff really takes good care of their people. I want to thank Kathy Miller and Joesph for giving me a job at the best nursing home I have worked for. THANKS!!

This nursing home has such a home like feeling. Great staff..

I have been involved in several nursing homes over the years with various family members and have never had a more positive experience than Florence Nursing Home in Marengo. It is not one of those fancy places but the care and attitude of the staff my father and our family experiences there are consistently beyond expectation. I can't express how much of our heartache they have lifted off us. My father has quality of life back ... he is happy and smiles again and so do we.
