Sorry to report that the place needs to find a decent cook . Ordered Mickey Mouse pancakes for Grandaughter but received a standard pancake . Waitress said that cook told her that all the batter ran together . Daughter was disappointed and cried . ( was obvious that order was made wrong but No offer was made to remake it as ordered .). Wife ordered ground beef dinner . Beef Patty was overcooked and dried out , and sweet potato fries limp and greasy. On my order. --- Both The coney sauce and the chili tasted bitter and lacked the usual sweet taste that most coney sauces offer . The wiener itself was of the chicken/ pork variety instead of the beef wiener usually served as a coney . The restaurant itself is clean and homey and the wait staff friendly but is in desperate need of a cook who knows HOW to cook . We used to patronize this restaurant twice weekly when it was operated by the Angelo George family and were looking forward to re-establishing that pattern since we moved back to town , however after our very disappointing dinner on our first week back , I don't think that will happen The recipe for the coney sauce and chili has obviously changed and the missed opportunity to make the food mistake on the Mickey Mouse pancake right was inexcusable . Sorry - but cannot recommend this place to anyone .
I have always loved Cracker Barrels food. I used to say they had the best pancakes. My husband ordered the blueberry. I had the pecan. They came out and didn't look fresh. We started to cut them and they were tough and dry. I have never had worse pancakes. Such a shame because I always loved them at other locations.
