        Conestoga Auction Co was founded in 1962 when two men joined in a partnership to continue the operation of an auction business which started in the early 1940's at Root's Country Market & Auction. It was first know as Root's Furniture Barn, then changed to Root's Auction Room by the partnership and soon after, to avoid confusion with Root's Country Market & Auction, changed the name again to Conestoga Auction Co., Inc The auction location remained on the second floor at Root's until it outgrew its quarters. In 1975 Conestoga Auction moved across Graystone Road to the former Bargaintown Building where the floor space increased from 3, 000 sq. ft. to 21, 000 sq. ft. Our company is a consignment auction, selling for estates and individuals from across the nation. It specializes in antiques, weapons, toys, ephemera, Native American artifacts, coins real estate and more. Buyers come from all of the states as well as from abroad.With knowledgeable auction and antique experience, the staff of Conestoga Auction are always willing and able to accommodate any need.Pick Up ServiceConestoga will schedule a pick-up of one item or an entire house contents and provide the man power and resources to ensure its safe handling.Over 100 feet of locked showcases provide a nice optimized display as well as a measure of security.

        if I could, I would give minus 5 stars. john Hess wants everyone to think he is such a good christian man, but, he is not. he will tell you exactly what you want to hear, but, do just the opposite. he will take your items for auction, but, in turn allows items to be undersold, and items that do not sell right away, he disposses of them, rather than give you the option of getting them back. beware of this auction house. they will rob you blind. when you question them about items being undersold, john Hess will give you a sob story about, he is not making any monies from the auctions. I would like to see his tax returns.
