DO NOT USE CLEANER VACUUM SOLUTIONS IN MANCHSTER! Here's why. Two days ago I was vacuuming when my vacuum cleaner shut down. I tried a different outlet in my apartment (incidentally on the same side of the building), it didn't work either. So, thinking it had finally broken for good, I took it to Cleaner Vacuum Solutions to purchase a new vacuum. I have been a customer of theirs for two years and thought I could get something more durable at a reasonable price. So I picked up a refurbished Dyson. I took it home and plugged it into the wall socket, and it didn't work. Curious, I tried another outlet, this time on the opposite side of the house, and it worked. I determined that the fuse on the one wall had shorted, rather than my vacuum cleaner breaking. The next day I called Cleaner Vacuum Solutions to let them know that I had made a mistake and wanted to return the Dyson for my old vacuum. They immediately started giving me reasons why they couldn't give me my vacuum back. First I was told that my vacuum cleaner had already been thrown away. I knew it wasn't possible because I had only just been there at 5pm the previous day and they closed at 5:30pm, and I called and left a message shortly after that time, then I called them as soon as they opened at 9am the next day. They would not have had time to dispose of my unit. The person on the phone said that trash pick-up was on Tuesday and insisted it was gone, but I had taken my vacuum in on Wednesday. I kept asking her to check if my vacuum was still there but she kept evading, insisting that they had a policy that they would only do an exchange for the same amount of money I had spent. I spent an unnecessary $160. I repeatedly asked the person to confirm that my vacuum was there and if it worked but they kept trying to get me off the phone. Finally, she confirmed it was still there and I asked her to check if it still worked, and again she tried to get me off the phone, most likely so they could tamper with it before turning it on where I could hear it. I refused to get off the phone until she checked if it worked. She finally confirmed that it still worked. I told her that I had made an honest mistake and I just wanted to return the Dyson for my old unit. The person said I would have to talk to Lorna, who would be in on Friday. So, I went in today to return the Dyson and get my vacuum cleaner back, and Lorna wasn't there, but the person I had spoken with on the phone was, and she continued to insist that they would not be giving me my vacuum back. Finally after she continued to argue with me about their policy, she called Lorna and was told to give me my vacuum cleaner. They gave me my vacuum cleaner back and clearly it had been tampered with, because it is in pieces. As a business owner, I would never treat my customers this way. Policy is not Law and extenuating circumstances should be taken into consideration. Customers should be treated respectfully and given the benefit of the doubt. I just want people to know how awful they were to me and how easy it would have been for them to simply give me my vacuum back due to the mistake, and sell the Dyson to someone else, it's not like they are bound by corporate policy, they are a small mom and pop, and they just lost someone who was a good customer because of their inability to be human.
