We have been there about five times since they opened. We went the weekend they opened, and it was hectic. They were not prepared for the crowds of people, but they handled it very well. The bent over backwards to apologize for any issues. The service has only gotten better. The food is very good. Excellent chicken soup. Good pastrami, burgers, potato latkes, excellent fries. Great pickle/salad bar. Always leave full and satisfied. Great addition to Manalapan.
This restaurant was under construction for a half a year and couldn't wait for it to open it finally opened April 30 I never had Jewish food before so I thought what the hell the atmosphere was very small and the waitresses and waiters were running around with their heads up their ass the lady at the front counter was amazing I believe her name was Lana . The owner was there and I believe his son to. his hair was not pulled up and he was all over the place as soi couldn't tell if he was coming or going . I ordered the corn beef It was dry the french fries were bland and the pickles were good cause you can't go wrong with pickles . All in all i'm definitely going to the pizza place next time . ROMEO'S Great service great people Italian food all the way
Terrible service, foods okay but on two separate occasions ordering online they never called to tell me that there was issues with my online orders going through even though I had gotten email confirmation. I had to call them after an hour and a half waiting to find out there was an issue at all. I was told that someone was "suppose" to call me but never recieved any such call. Then they tell me to just call in next time instead, likes it my fault for ordering online, didnt even apologize for the inconvience, rude. Well there wont be a next time. If they dont want people using their online ordering system take it down. Safe to say I will not be doing business with them again.
AWFUL!! i made an order for myself and 3 of my coworkers. I ordered a chicken sandwich and got a chicken BLT . which wouldnt have been a big deal but the person it was for cannot eat bacon. The fries were all cold, soggy and under cooked. they for got 1 of 3 drinks (which were ALL paid for) and when i called to let them know of the errors they were rude and yelled at me that i had ordered a BLT when i in fact did not. i can understand mistakes but with the gross food and absolutely NASTY employees me and my coworkers will NEVER order from here again.
I had lunch today at the deli. I have been there a few times for breakfast and it was fantastic. Today I had the Carnegie corned beef sandwich on rye. It was the best corned beef I have had in the area. Moist and plentiful, just the way I like my sandwich! No cheese, just spicy brown mustard made for a true New York Carnegie deli experience. The chef (Herb?) is one of the more personable people you will meet and he wields a mean spatula! The staff, particularly the young lady who seems to be there all the time is attentive and warm. My server today and on previous visits must be the owners right hand woman (I’m guessing). There is a nice selection to choose from. Interestingly the new bar that opened a few storefronts to the side has a bar menu that is served by Big Herb's. The pickles and homemade salads really add to the quality of the meal. I'm a big fan. Stop by if you are in the area.
Great sandwiches and salads at a good price; limited groceries, I mean you wouldn't go there for a can of corn. Even though they stay open until 8pm, the crew often shuts the grill down just after 7pm which is a poorly chosen policy. It's like a 7-11 closing at 10 but I guess there is no owner on site, they scramble out the door at will. parking can be limited. They are across the road from the Englishtown flea market
