If you want strong technique and style definitely look into JAOD. The studio is among the top 25 studios in the country ( as ranked by dance spirit magazine ) and also hold many titles including best studio and outstanding choreography awards from competitions. As well as having the training you need to succeed in dance JAOD offers many guest choreographer opportunities and works routinely with choreographers: Dee Caspary (sytycd), Nick Bass (Adrenaline,JT backup dancer), Caroline Lewis-Jones (adrenaline), Chris Jacobson, (adrenaline), Brooke Peroitti (24/7 Dance) and many more. The studio offers yearly scholarships to dancers and goes to many conventions such ash WCDE, Jump, Adrenaline, Tremaine, Hollywood Vibe and LA Dance Magic. JAOD alumni have succeeded in their professional dance careers and continue to perform in broadway shows such as Wicked, Billy Elliot, Newsies and Cats, as well as dancing on cruise ships and in the Radio City Rockettes. JAODs staff is all very supportive and easy to work with. There is no favoritism at the studio and you audition to get into dances. The classes are intense and you are sometimes pushed to the limit. The teams at JAOD are all very friendly and outgoing. They all get along very well and enjoy each others talent and company. I highly recommend JAOD.

Provided by CitysearchThe technique training is very good and most of the teachers are good with their students but it is not always the healthiest place for kids. Children are in one minute and out the next. Owner pits children against each other, is highly unprofessional and feeds on & engages in gossip and drama about children & parents. Private information about teachers, students and families are inappropriately shared. Owner complains about not making enough money and is constantly gauging her clients with new fees and increases. Asking questions can get you in trouble. Getting phone calls returned is difficult. Office staff can be very rude. Unstable environment--you never know what you will get when you walk into the studio. If you can survive the irradic behavior & drama your kids will learn how to dance here. There are more stable, warm and healthy studios that have good technique out there. Dances, music and costumes are getting more risque and inappropriate.
