You can pay more for a private, Christian school, but you probably won't find a better school. When judged by academic excellence, well rounded activities, safety of the school environment, and the world view that is taught, Faith Christian Academy has a lot to offer. They are fully accredited by four different agencies, including S.A.C.S., or the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (recognized by both the Alabama Dept. of Education and the U.S. Department of Education as a regional accrediting agency). Faith Christian Academy began in Athens, AL in 1997. FCA now offers K4 through 12th grade (and will offer K3 starting in August, 2009 at the Madison, AL campus). During the last dozen years, Faith Christian Academy has consistently competed with such schools as Mountain Brook in Jefferson County (a highly funded public school) for the highest achievement test scores in the state. To date, nearly all of FCAs high school graduates have gone to colleges (Auburn, UAH, Troy State, etc.), and a vast majority of them have earned full or partial academic scholarships. The school is operated independently of any church or denomination by a board of directors with something like 100 years of combined education experience. The school's principal has about 30 years experience in Christian education. In August, 2009 Faith Christian Academy will open an additional campus at 13902 Bradford Road in Madison, AL to serve the Madison and East Limestone areas. If you're looking for a conservative, excellent academic environment where safety and Biblical values abound, this one is worth checking out.
