BAD EXPERIENCE - I brought my Kirby here because I was experiencing issues with the power cord. They called less than week later (they didn't give me timeframe in general) to tell me it was ready - when I asked the price of the repair, they said $89.69. When I got there to pick it up, I found out the cord was only $44.95 - they had taken it upon themselves to replace the belt, bulb, and bag which inflated the parts as well as labor price. Also the belt was not the original light grey color - it was black. I called and spoke to Kirby (the owner) about the color - he essentially gave me a verbal shrug and said they just order the parts but don't know what they'll get. I checked with Kirby (the manufacturer) and they said they no longer offer the cord in light grey - I was able to find one online for less than $30 with tax and shipping. I just brought the new cord up to the shop, asked them to swap it out for the one I purchased, and Kirby told me they can't take back the cord even though I've not used the vacuum since I got it back. I commented about the additional "repairs" they made - he said they perform estimates free of charge. Apparently it's my fault that THEY decided to do the extra work. It took me all of about 6 minutes to change out the cord - hardly worth the $32.50 they charged me for labor. Though they maybe good at what they do and convenient to this area of town, the lack of a customer service attitude far outweighs their expertise. Kirby told me they run the business "off of repeat business" - I won't be back and would caution anyone who's thinking about bringing their vacuum cleaner there to make sure you get an estimate first and find out, if they're replacing visible parts, if the parts are the same original color, should that matter to you.
I've never had any trouble at all here, and have been bringing my equipment here for years to my complete satisfaction. I'd think that before you drove 40 miles to a place, and if you couldn't get an answer on the phone, you might believe that no one was there. Emergencies do happen. I have bought equipment here and never had an issue, either.
Sitting in front of your store at 3pm on a Monday and youre not open. Theres no vacation sign or a message on the answering machine that indicates you will be closed today. Hoping I can receive a discount on my next visit since I've driven 80miles (to and from)
Repaired my Singer treadle machine perfectly. Now I can use my mother's precious antique.
I love this store!!! Very friendly people and great prices. I bought a vacuum there and feel like I got top service and a great vacuum. Knowledgeable staff.
