The owner is very nice. Talk to him 5 minutes and you'll be convinced he's right for the job. Don't be fooled. He might know what to do but that doesn't mean he'll do it.



His proposal said "the droppings will be removed and sanitized". Well, i have a nice pic from soon after he was gone of droppings all over the insulation, including the a inch deep pile up against the sheathing.



His proposal said "we shall seal off entrance points [...] I will also do an exterior check of the structure and seal any openings that we may find". I have a nice pic taken after his second visit (the one where he had to be called back to actually remove the droppings). The 4 inch wide hole is in an eave under a dormer that is basically right over the front door of the house. The hole opens directly into attic space. It is about as obvious an entrance point as there can possibly be.



At a certain point, it becomes obvious that you are better off cutting your losses and going in a new direction. There's a reason his quote was 1/3 of the competition's.



Spend $10 and take him out to lunch one day. You'll get great conversation for a lot less money than hiring him for pest control.
