I took my wedding dress and a bridesmaid dress to Darcy. While she is personable, I was disappointed with the quality of the alterations on both dresses. I ended up having to find, and take, my wedding dress to another seamstress with only a couple of months before my wedding.
Darcy also told me that my request to alter the cup size of my wedding dress “could not be done,” that it was just not possible to do with my dress (I had no beading or lace on my dress). She informed me of this on my second fitting, after the first visit when I had told her my concerns with the bust of the dress, and after she told me that she could make all of the adjustments needed.
When I did take my dress to another seamstress, Debra Hedeen, she had no problem fixing the cup size of the bust. I would like to give Darcy the benefit of the doubt, because I don't think she would just make something up about what can and cannot be fixed on a wedding dress, but she does not have the skill level to make certain alterations.
The lady I ended up taking my dress to also charged a lot less for alterations, so my suggestions to brides in the Seattle area would be to shop around.

Darcy is FABULOUS! I was a little hesitant at first taking my wedding dress to someone I'd never met with before, but after 5 minutes visiting with Darcy I had 100% confidence she'd do a great job...and she did. Her pricing was reasonable and she is clearly experienced and great at what she does!
I needed limited alterations (hem, bustle hooks, and had a bra sewn in). She did a great job with all of it and the dress fit like a glove!
I had a destination wedding, and then am having a local reception in a few weeks. The place that I took my dress to in Hawaii to have it steamed, ripped out the bra cup and put a dirty iron to the dress. I thought it was burnt and ruined. I took it to Darcy and within 5 minutes she assured me the dress could be cleaned and would be back to new. She took the dress right away and will have it cleaned, steamed and back to me in time for our Seattle reception.
I'd refer anyone to Darcy...she really is great!!!

I met with Darcy 5 or 6 times before my wedding. She is a professional and did very good work. I kept loosing weight and had my bodice taken in more and more. She was fantastic and my dress turned out perfectly!
Below I will list all Pros and Cons
Cons: She is fast. My first appointment was about 10 mins for pinning the bustle, hem, and bodice. and i left feeling like ""wow, did she really get everything she needed?"" She did, but I would have like 5 more minutes to discuss what was getting done. In the next appointments, i would ask for a few minutes alone with the mirror so as to not feel rushed. it was no problem! So if you need 5 or 10 mins to stand in your dress and decide if you like how it feels you'll need to let her know. She is a professional and doesn't need to obsess about it like you will.
Pros: Communicative and will work to get you what you want! The definition of success is not reading your mind and getting it perfect the first time, but listening to what you say and fixing things if they aren't perfect the first time. Darcy will definitely listen to you. The first version of the bustle didn't turn out how I wanted it so I emailed her the morning after my second appointment with a picture and she responded right away and offered to be me back in that week to re-work it. It came out perfect and was one of my favorite parts of my dress. So don't be scared to ask questions or say you want something changed. Also, as i was loosing weight, we kept waffling about taking in the bodice more. We didn't want to too tight but my dress had a low back so there was little room for error. I went in right before my wedding and we spent 10 minutes tying paddings and different options and finally decided to take it in just one more half inch. that half inch made such a difference on my wedding day! I was so glad we took the time to try different things.
She quoted me the price up front and even with the rework on the bustle and having to keep taking the bodice in there wasn't any price change. I bought my earring and veil from her. The Veil was half the price of those in the bridal salons for a comparable style and she makes them herself (no sweat shops!) Also she has a great invisible ribbon edge that i hadn't seen anywhere else. Very nice and subtle.
So final advice, GO!! but email questions and say if you like how things are going! if you worry something is off (like the bodice is too big) say something!! She is a professional but can't read minds or feel the same things you do. Ask for extra time to ponder how the dress fits while you are there.

I went to 3 tailors before I found a recommendation for Fragile Fit. I ended up getting so desperate I agreed to a bustle that didn't look or feel quite right. I went to Fragile Fit and they tried several different variations on bustles until we found the perfect one! She really took the time to figure out the best thing to do for the dress. She took the hem up to a length that looked better and was easier to walk in. Her prices were way lower than I had been quoted from others. She even helped me pick out the perfect jewelry. It was fun and stress free! And I don't have to worry about the dress looking bad or tripping and falling anymore! It really made my day!

I used Darcy at Fragie fit to alter my wedding gown,(or should I say re-alter). I first had it done at another salon and it did not fit right,2-weeks before the wedding I relized I needed to take it somewhere else. A friend gave me Darcy's info, and fortunatley she was able to fit me in. We addressed all my issues and she explained what needed to be done. When I came back to try it again it was perfect!!!. and to top it off her prices were great and she is fun to work with. She really put my mind at ease and releived alot of stress. I would highly recomend her to anyone.

I think my overall experience with Darcy would have been different if she had had more time to spend with me and was able to ask how I wanted my gown to fit BEFORE she began alterations. I felt rushed at all my fittings because her allotted appointment times were squished so close together that I watched the customers before me being fitted, and in turn was watched by the next customer after me (there's no waiting room in her one-room boutique). After the final fitting, I tried my dress on at home only to find that I couldn't raise my arms without my breasts becoming exposed. I brought the dress back and showed Darcy the problem, who said it couldn't be fixed and suggested I just not raise my arms up at my wedding. Extremely upset about my gown not fitting, I took it to another boutique who was able to make the dress stay up when I raised my arms. In order to do that, they simply raised the dress and took in the seam on the hips and waist- something pretty basic that should have been done in the beginning. Unfortunately, my dress ended up being a little bit too short because too much fabric had been removed from the length in the original alterations. Nevertheless, it was more important to me that I could move comfortably so it was worth it to make the changes. Someone with more knowledge about wedding gowns probably would not have had the problems I did if they were able to show Darcy exactly what they wanted. I was completely inexperienced, though, so I looked to Darcy as the expert. My beautiful dress that I'd spent so much time picking out and should have been excited about, became a huge source of anxiety for me the final days before the wedding, as I frantically searched for someone who could make it fit at the last minute.

You feel comfortable as soon as you walk into the shop. My experience with the fitting was excellent and I was given practical advice and recommendations, which really helped. I have been to other alterations places and this one is 100%, by far the best! You won't be disappointed!

Darcy altered my Maggie Sottero wedding gown in April and did beautiful work, was fun to interact with, and had it to me in time for the wedding. The gown had arrived too a size too large for me, so she pulled in the ruched bodice, hemmed the bottom and chapel train, and put in a French bustle so that I could dance the night away at my reception. I ended up buying one of her handmade garters as well. They were much prettier than the mass-produced ones found at department stores!

I used Darcy for alterations, Steaming, & gown preservation. She was sweet and great to work with, we did a complicated bustle because of the way my train was made, added little side ""sleeves"", hemmed the bottom and let out the hips of the dress. The dress looked great, but one of the bustle loops was broken when we went to bustle the train for the reception. (an ordeal, but we solved it) I still used her for my bridesmaid dress for another wedding I was in in.

I was a bridesmaid in a wedding a couple weeks ago Darcy from Fragile fit altered my gawn. I turned out to be pregnant after we had already orederd the gowns. Darcy made me feel very comfortable, and put my mind at ease she altered the gown perfectly and I felt beautiful. She took a stressful and made it carefree. She also did the alterations on the brides gown and it was perfect as well, and the bustle held up all night. Her prices seemed very reasonable. We will be sending all our friends her way.
