X-rays

Porcelain Veneers – Porcelain Veneers are custom-made, tooth-colored covers. They are used to close gaps or cover teeth that are stained, crooked, or misshapen. This therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth becomes decayed or infected. To save the tooth, the infected pulp in your tooth’s canal is removed. After earning his dental degree from the NYU School of Dentistry Dr. Robert Florio completed a two-year externship at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine for Advanced Continuing Education in periodontal surgery. This extensive externship included a surgical residency along with lecture studies.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
In addition to his residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, Dr. Florio also completed a two-year externship at Nassau County Medical Center for oral surgery. This too entailed a two-year surgical residency. Once the residency was completed he chose to remain on the staff for an additional five years as a general dental consultant to the oral surgery department.
Tooth Extractions
The main reasons for wisdom tooth extraction are impaction (meaning they are trapped beneath the gums, where they can form cysts and damage nearby teeth and bone) and insufficient room in the jaw, which causes damage, crowding, and pain. Some dental work may require wisdom teeth removal as well. If your wisdom teeth come in correctly and you are able to clean them properly, you might not need to have them removed, so enjoy your extra chewing power!

Invisalign Orthodontics
During a complimentary consultation, Dr. Florio and Dr. Kohner will determine if Invisalign is right for you. Invisalign uses a series of removable, comfortable aligners which are invisible to the naked eye. Before we begin the process you will receive a computerized animation of how your teeth will look at the end of the treatment.
Braces
Invisalign works well for adults and teenagers. In a short period of time these invisible, plastic aligners can give you a beautiful smile without braces.

Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Florio’s love of learning and searching for answers in the treatment of dental diseases has led him to extensively pursue advanced continuing education studies in dental cosmetics, jaw disorders, and full-mouth rehabilitation from two of the world’s most prestigious dental institutions: the Pankey Institute for Post Graduate Education and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry, where only a hand- full of dentists worldwide have completed this rigorous training. He has completed 5 continuums at the Pankey Institute for Postgraduate Continuing Education. He is also a graduate of the Center for Professional Advancement in Arizona.
